Deep dungeon for BLU only

It sure as heck wouldn't be the overpowered powerhouse it is and be used for Farming Content if it was the same Old Boring "Normal Caster Job" some people think it should be.
The job can be used for more then just 1 lil minigame. It can be used in duties. Sure with limitations. But just like Weekly raiding it gets lifted over time, and more gets added to Bluemage.

Or we could, you know, expect Square to do their job and put actual effort into making it something neat instead of what people expect it would be. I mean hell, weren't BLUs in 11 a mix of roles? I remember reading about BLU tanks for sure. Having a job that can fulfill a tank, healer, or dps role in current content would be so neat, and the core is already there, Square just has to actually put in the effort to utilize it. Doesn't even mean BLU has to lose it's minigame either.

But that's a pipe dream I know...

I haven't played BLU since the second day it came out.

Would be nice if they could unlock it for normal roulette usage, but ONLY if you have the skills they want you to have to fulfill your role. If you're missing just one, you cannot queue. Meaning if you want to queue BLU as tank, you must have all the tanking actions for it. If you want to heal as it, you must have all the healing spells (including the Lakshmi one and Angel Whisper). DPSing it would likely be the easier role to unlock. But regardless of which role you choose, you will ONLY have access to those BLU spells they want you to have, nothing more, nothing less.

This allows them to fine tune it to avoid it being too powerful for the content it enters. Meaning it won't have any super powerful attacks (sorry 1000 Needles) for any of the dungeons early on, and the level 71-80 it will have access to them, but in sparce amounts. Basically it makes it a "normal" job for all intents and purposes for roulettes, but only if you're queuing up for DR. Otherwise it's the normal BLU. However this is far too ambitious for them, and requires fighting spaghetti code.

I wouldnt know, never played XI
And if Balancing Scholar and Summoner was apparently a Nightmare...I have no Faith in Bluemage being made into a Multiclass job. Much less a properly Balanced one.
But, it can already do that, just in a limited Capacity, one that I feel confident they will continue to improve on. Just...for the way the job is made and designed, it will never be a Full-Fledged "Normal" job.
And until they severely Nerf it, it will be kept behind 1 expansion because Im sure they dont wanna trivialize newer current content.

I feel like the people calling it a failure are the ones that want everything handed to them. Only around 5000 people (myself included) have morbol mounts for something that's supposedly broken and lacking in content.

I mean, Blu is done.
It's finished everything in the original document.

IF they were going to do more limited classes, (they won't, people hate on them constantly for being limited, look at the other replies in this topic), they'd start a different one and finish that first.
Once there was a roulette worth, Blu, Onion knight, Chemist, Beast Master, Puppetier, and so forth, all at the same level... I could see giving them a deep dungeon to work together, like the carnival, a capstone on the concept.

Best part of limited classes, once they get tired of working on them, all they have to do is NOT scale them down when the rest of the world gets level squished. If they ever reach 100, the entire rest of the world goes from 200 to 100, they can remain exactly the same.
