Ungendered sit poses, please?

So the new sits are bad then because they're identical across all races? With your logic, that is.

The kneeling sit is also identical across everybody. And they just unlocked a bunch of clothing for male and female characters.

I'm just asking for options. Not the removal of unique stuff, just more universal options on top of the existing unique stuff. And it's nothing you need to engage in.

Sure I get your idea of wanting to be unique and you can still have that. It literally comes with playing your race. And if a races uniqueness is limited to just a few animations then that's pretty sad. There's still lore, hairs, etc. that can make the race unique. Giving other races/genders/etc a few more emotes isn't gonna kill the uniqueness of any one race. It just create inclusitivity.

As for your comment on "Why even play certain races if they're just an inferior version of something else?" this is such an odd question. Surely you don't think bunny boys are perfect in every way do you. You've never gone, "Damn I wish I had that" There's no inferior race and it's not only female Au ra players (im a chronic fantasier if you are also referring to me) it's just a fun little idea for having a unique character.

Not that simple. There is currently not an option to avoid using particular poses. If this was a thing, and I want my character to cpose after several seconds, she would do this. Not to mention what online pervs would do if my character was in this position, and I decide to afk using a sitting pose at the MGS while waiting for jumbo cacpot to run.


Stop making mountains out of molehills. Also learn that constructive feedback =/= only feedback that agrees with the OP. I happen to like to sit. I usually do it when I AFK for a bio break, to grab a drink, or when I am putting together a gathering list for a crafting session. Why should I lose this because some players want their female characters to behave like dudes, while the option exists for you to just select a male avatar?

The lot of you need to realize that not everyone is on board the agenda to abolish gender norms, especially when it comes to development time in FFXIV. I would sooner have them unlock the cposes that are exclusive to other races, but I don't really support that either.

Be for real you're not even gonna lose it. It's just a simple animation addition. And again if you don't like it don't use it. Having masculine emotes on your character doesn't make them not cute and dainty like you want them to be. It's just about seeing your own character, which is also what you want as well. This is hardly a mountain, even less a molehill.

One of the more common requests on here is asking for male viera hair on all races and genders so I really can't believe that it's not about just taking things that make the races and genders unique one by one.
I have had the "I wish I had that" but then I realize I have things to my own race or gender that are cool and I forget about it. I can't wear hats, I can't use a lot of glam options, but I have some that are great, and I just use those.

The thing is I don't want what's unique about my characters gender and race taken away from it. If Miqo and Aura have the same options as I do but also have hats and legacy armor glam, why would I ever play viera?

This isn't even about racially unique animations, this is about gendered animations. The sits are identical across the female characters except maybe Lalas, and same with the men. This would not touch the racially unique stuff, it would just ADD more universal options. I'm not saying give femra the male Miqo sit, I'm saying let female and male characters have unrestricted access to all four of the new sit emotes.

I don't know I guess your mind is too small to see the bigger picture. You can still have a uniqueness outside of hair and animations.
Sorry for the day F and M Viera get to wear hats and you lose all your uniqueness I guess.
I guess you guys will still have a broken spine...

TLDR: you use the specific random situations that can either be specific to those topics, or you can twist and misconstrue to push your own ideal that you seem to put on others.


an actual solution that is both a QoL, and beneficial to all who don't want to see it..,
is to upgrade the whole emote UI menu, allow us to select which idles/sit emotes to not have in the change pose wheel, as well as have the option to toggle on, other genders and/or races emotes.(how many or what can be left to debate, but there is no real loss or gain, even when it comes to "Race Specialty" <it just comes off as many in the past would call Snowflaking, but instead of others wanting to be, you both are projecting your potential loss of specialty>)

You seem to be focused on the race part but it's the same for the gender portion. If female characters have the same animations and poses as my male character what's the point? what's the point in having a male character over a female one? They have the same glams, they have the same poses, what's the big reason?

This is a whole lot of projection and assumptions just because I have a different opinon than you do.

Having races and genders be different is fine and good in the game, it makes playing one character feel different than the other. For example, it makes up for a lot of the limitations of my male viera character that I have male glams and viera exclusive hairstyles and animations.
If those weren't exclusive then there would be no reason to play it and I'd have to pay 10 dollars to get off what would be an objectively inferior race. Same for gender in this game, male characters get far less options for glam in this game as well as some bad animations here and there, and the few good ones they get being great make up for it.

Buddy, you brought race into this. And again: they've been adding more universal animations to cutscenes anyways as a default.

And the answer is really simple: preference. I prefer the way my character looks. I prefer many aspects of my female au ra. I'm just simply asking that the pretense of ungendering clothing like the Valentione suit and dress extends to these Four Emotes. That's it. I'm not saying remove your viera male, I'm asking for the sits to be universal. Four sitting animations. That's it.
