Island Sanctuary feels intentionally slow and inefficient.

I'm rank 4 and it feels like I could have done that in 30 minutes if I skipped the text and didn't explore.

If this was another game, you would probably spend ages gathering each node, with no return teleport and a slower mount speed. You would do a lot more clicking to build structures and do a giant grind that takes months of hitting trees and picking apples without breaks. It saved me a lot of time. I just click things one time and it's done. These minions do things for me while I sleep and I can check every few days and replenish resources like it's a weekly.

If this was another game the farming and exploration would be more interactive and engaging, and none of the complaints you mentioned would matter.
But you're speaking like someone who either doesn't play or actual farm sims or life sims at all so who cares. XIV good, other games bad.

Some people just prefer to take their time with the content and have gates in said content that occur in order to stop people from rushing through it. This isn't really content you're expected to rush through in a couple of days, and nor should it be. Personally, I prefer the time gating in the content, it puts me in a position where I'm going to experience other pieces of content rather than to steamroll and tunnel vision through Island Sanctuary.

That being said, you seemingly bring up people having issues with criticism, but in reality, it just sounds like you dislike people disagreeing with you. Get over it. A complaint will always have a counter, as will a complement always have a counter.

When you compare island sanctuary to say harvest moon/story of seasons.

Our crops being slower to grow makes sense when they wanted it to be casual content. They don't expect you on the island all day. And they don't want it to demand much time either I don't think.

In harvest moon you can move forward an in game day and have your crop harvested within 20minutes because you are moving a week or more till they are grown. We can't move time on our island, crops grow in real time and if they took an hour to grow you would jus be micromanaging the island too much. If they sped up handicrafts, crops and all the rest you would never be leaving your island. And the regular management that demands would stress a lot of people out and kill enjoyment.

The time gating rly does not bother me, I enjoy the island and then go do other things and come back and enjoy a bit more chill time. Plenty people already have level 7-8 islands because they have spent 16hr days there should not be the ones getting catered too. It was not designed to be rushed and you chose to rush it anyway. I am nearing level 6 myself. Rewards are nice and I don't expect to have it all within a few weeks, also fine. Not being able to get everything instantly seems good to me. Gives another reason to keep returning to the island.

They will add more to the sanctuary and I am sure in time we can spend a reasonable chunk of time in there daily but this was never meant to compete with fully fleshed out farming sims. I would love more animals, crops, some added crafting etc. I think this content will really shine with another few patches worth of additions.

I like that it is separate from the rest of the game as well. I don't feel the need for it to be tied in more.

But in the meantime if you want a good farm sim, the old harvest moon games are great!

You're very wrong there. I have no issue with people who disagree with me, but clearly there are those of you who simply cannot stand when someone points something out that you don't like. You can do any sort of mental gymnastics and keep up this backhanded mentality but honestly, It doesn't matter at all what you think because at the end of the day they're still going to do what the majority of players want and that's not going to change. I'm merely putting out there what I think, and what I hope they would do to please those who have been let down.

No, I consider it quite an accurate assessment otherwise you would simply go on your day, and counter their points as opposed to bringing up this whole "People must dislike criticisms" - No, they just don't agree with you it's that simple, and the very fact you insist on doubling down on this despite a fairly grounded reason as to why there are gates within the content is just practically a testament to this.

My first thought is that you seemingly cannot handle people countering or disagreeing with you, it's really just that simple. I think if you manage to derive narrowmindedness and parroting from my comments then you really ought to reconsider throwing stones in glass houses.

Like I've said, whether you would prefer it another way, the simple fact is that they have introduced these gates as a way to curb progression and bring some artificial longevity to the content so that people don't exhaust what it has to offer in a couple of days. Equally, you will probably find the progression get slightly faster soon once people have started to send out their Ganary to get the expedition materials to upgrade their workshop and Ganary. Additionally when people start to stockpile materials from both the animal pen, and the farms through the rest days, in addition to not needing to expend their expedition materials on upgrades then you will similarly find the rate of Seafarer's Cowries increase too. I'm sorry you feel otherwise but there is a perfectly logical reason they went with this implementation.

I only played one when I was a child and it was fun and addictive. But I'm not really trying to compare it to farm and life sims but games that are like an MMO and would make you grind a lot more than this game does.
