I was responding specifically to someone who said "all the other content in the game allows you to bypass the mediocrity. Just delete PVP." He was whining about having teammates who, by being mediocre, don't allow him to be an awesome elitist to win all the games and get all the prizes. He seems to have missed the point that all other FFXIV content is made for mediocrity to thrive.
And I proved over 1,000 games sample size that you can significantly push those odds into your favor. I didn't share some pitiful 18 game sample size. Where did this "hurr durr 50%" threshold come from? In a 3 game mode you should have on average a 33% chance to win. If you play well you can overcome mediocrity and reap rewards in whatever form that means to you. Quicker mounts and titles (where only wins matter). More experience for leveling alt-jobs and getting malmstone rewards and more wolf marks (where second place matters too, which everyone is ignoring).
Edit: Wait, yes I do see that you first said "on average you're going to lose 2/3 of your games". Funny to see you move the goal post to "losing more than winning on average" after I proved you wrong with a significant sample size.
Someone came in here to say "delete PvP cause wah wah my teammates bad". I responded to that, with a side comment about Frontlines. You are actually the one who leaned into frontlines as a focus of discussion. And a 41+% first place rate over 1000+ games where the best most can hope for is hovering around 33%, where I'm only 1 out of 24 players on the team, is absolutely significant. It doesn't matter how you try to downplay or ignore it. I countered your opinion with proof, and all you have left is insults.
If you have skill, you will overcome teammates who bring you down, plain and simple.
