I accept with the events in Eastern Europe, that Square made the right call at the time, however expert analyses sees this conflict potentially lasting years, its a horrible thing.
However we need to be realistic, keeping demolition on hold for years simply isn't feasible, demolition needs to come back, this isn't a nice thing to do, but we are looking at years of conflict.
I say this as someone who has a house, whos FC has a house, its good what Square did, but this will be a potential years long conflict, the game ultimately either needs to rethink housing radically to match the supply being cut off or bring back demolition. Ideally I think Square should look at rethinking housing.
I also dont think its fair to call people 'Karens' on this, If you seriously think someone running from a warzone, trying to keep their family and loved ones safe is wondering ' oh what about my virtual house on FFXIV' then I dont know what to tell you.
it shows a fundamental misunderstanding of what conflict is, creature comforts is the clothes on your back, the feeling of loved ones being safe, I think many people in this thread those for and against demolition need to remember that.
Because this conversation isn't going anywhere, Im going to try and create someway of compromise
for the people against demolition - how long do you think demolition should be suspended, keep in mind we are looking at a multi year war, remember this, there are no short term solutions, if the war lasts for 5 years are you in favour of demolition happening before that.
if you are in favour of demolition being suspended for the entire duration of this war what are your solutions for the ingame housing issue.
this me being genuine, solutions
a fundamental problem was when Square enacted this policy when the war began, it was very much thought that it would be over in a matter of days, that was the analysis , that the conflict would be quick, bloody and over in a matter of days if not weeks,
the fact it has prolonged was very much a surprise to everyone, myself included.
so really square probably didint think they'd have this policy still in place as many organisations and governments felt this conflict would be well over by now
I've... talked about this frequently on this forum.
Instanced housing, revamping Island Sanctuaries to include personal housing, something along those lines. The wards are a drain on server resources, we've been told time and again. So institute something instanced. Apartments you can purchase in sizes that aren't the size of a breadbox would be a good start.
You argue in bad faith and you aren't going to get more than a quip from me.
