1 House 1 FC per DC Only

When players ask for instanced housing, I often wonder if they actually know what they are asking for.

Whatever people wish to believe or accept; all of this comes down to what the hardware allows; and server hardware has limitations.

I do wish someone from SE would just come out and spell this out for people; but even then it would probably fall on deaf ears- you all want what you want and logic or facts aren't the reasons you keep asking for the impossible.

This is why I am not particularly in favor of one form of housing over another. Without information from the developers and SE, we have no way of knowing what sort of roadblocks they may encounter working on these various forms of housing. All I can say is that we need some form of housing revamp that provides more and better housing than what is currently available (this includes fixing the xyz axis issue so that we no longer have to glitch).

I think so because so many of us have played other MMOs where decent implementations were done.

Fully instanced is fairly simply one step beyond our current internally instanced design. Right now, we have wards that are always spun up and running, from those is one of 60 haus in 2 subdivisions and two apartment buildings, each with a door, that leads to an ... instanced internal. That instanced internal - be it small, large, or apartment - starts when you zone in, and shuts down when you leave it.

Fully instanced means instead of a ward the entire house and garden is behind such a "Door"/"NPC"/"Portal"/"Menu Choice"/"Aetheryte".

You likely don't get neighbors - although at least one game has done that despite being instanced - but you do get full inside and outside areas. One additional advantage is, you don't need to start a new instance when you move outside to inside, as the outside isn't shared with that Paissa sub farm over the road.

Another advantage is, that because you are not needing to deal with your neighbor's always there big bertha cannons, dhrows, and glowing moogle trees, you can have more objects in your outside, without PS4 players melting down from excess polygons.

While we don't know what SE have done with their chewing gum, duct tape, and wire; the basic concept behind any similar game's scene is well established in the industry and something that is quite common knowledge. A housing system design isn't and shouldn't be taxing on the server's CPU. For the most part for the CPU it should only be a record of object UUID, colour, position X/Y/Z and rotation and then receiving where you are from your client then sending it on to everyone else.

We know FFXIV is using a low LOD convex hull for the physics part as we can stand in mid air, on the edge of something and seemingly float.

We also know that the players position is set by the client, as OOB is possible in the game.

We do know what we're asking for. There are other games that provide instanced houses and do it well, I believe there is even one game that has neighbourhoods and manages to create new ones on demand.
So where this idea that we are asking for the impossible comes from I don't know.

This expansion every player will get a personal instance - the island sanctuary. So, if it's possible to do that for everyone, I find it hard to see why instanced houses with yards are somehow impossible.

I wish someone from SE would communicate on this issue, too. It feels like we've been shouting into the void since HW.

At this point, i May Be wrong, but i think It Is Just a work/Money issue.. like that: "in theory" they could revamp housing or add instance housing, but the work and Money involved wild be like the One necessary fornan entired expansion. Maybe they should Just tell US straight ..

Doubt any of those games expanded their player base much if any after they added housing. So we really have no clue just how expandable their housing was. Maybe ff14 should just remove personal housing and go back to Fc only.

Cause only one you're the fc leader for I agree. As long as you can still be part of other FCs, not a leader but member, that have houses.

Suggesting to do something, before we get the new servers, people from other servers on DC will go an hoard houses on the new servers as well.

Own 1 FC only on the entire DC, you can be member of whatever other FC on your alts.

It is a really good suggestion, with the new servers around the corner, for other server on same DC to not go and hoard houses, because they will and they do, it has been seen and is happening.

It is not a restriction, your alt can be member of whatever FC's, it is just that as one you can only have one owned FC for self and to that 1 FC house and 1 private house.

Give me a reason to it should NOT be restricted?
