Hey look a spreadsheet of all the eureka bots!

sure, that works as long as you overlook the fact the investigating a bot involves more than looking at a few singular instances of events, any serious scrutiny would identify real players via their interactions with other players and the more generalised randomness in the way they move and go about things about.

Because like others have said, banning the bots themselves is pointless. Banning the shell accounts means nothing and they're easily replaceable. Banning bots on their own means nothing and there will be new ones to replace it the next day. You'd have to somehow get the ringleader to admit to running the entire scheme while being on their main character/account for it to matter. Then, they could go about perma-banning them and all related accounts under their IP/MAC address. Just sending them a random list of bot names will get you nowhere, you need the main person.

The person/people behind this are whales. They genuinely do not care about replacing shell accounts and will do so as long as they are continuing to generate a profit. Banning gil buyers will ultimately hurt them more than having to continuously make new shell accounts. Should switch up your crusade to target them instead of easily replaceable bots.

thats a little misleading and you know it. They are not going to be offering free gil in the amounts that you, me and everyone else know they would be in order to trip some invisible notification to SE. and they are not going to just give away millions. sure, some innocent person may put up one apple juice for 20 million gil.... but I highly doubt it.

So pointless that massively inflated eureka instances are acceptable are they?

Removing the bots allows people to play content in the game without fighting an uphill battle of 1000% scaled instances.

But yes, lets just go ban people for swaring and leave actual gameplay unplayable for an entire Datacenter due to bots.

Actually, it does. The thing is that it eats into their profits and the reason why botting exist is that it is profitable. What you have to do is to make their operation no longer profitable and they will move on to another game. You have to do it often thought or otherwise you won't solve anything. SE has to invest into in-game Game Masters that can observe players and most likely they are not willing to do that because hiring people is expensive.

You do realize that just a drop in the ocean, right? Look at the number of bot accounts that have been suspended or terminated.

That number is 26 when there are thousands of bots on each world. Lmao

Yes, i know, that it is not very much. And i hope, they will find some reliable methods to detect bots. Without things like root kit-like anticheat software.

Anti-cheat is not going to work. It has proven ineffective time and time again. What you need is real humans in-game observing the players.
