If they make a list of what's "ok" to use then it's just going to make those plugins/addons more mainstream which they don't want. Also Twitch numbers don't mean a whole lot, and the numbers being low got nothing to do with 3rd party tools.

Oh my lord what a metric
Sorry but this is not that hard to accomplish. I can name 5 addons that would solve all of this right away and set the standard. Also everyone pretending like Twitch does not matter forgets this games population exploded after it blew up on Twitch thanks to Asmon.
Raiders are scared to stream anywhere right which gives the impression FF14 has no high end content worth streaming. It is stupid but it is how the world works.
Other than ultimate progs or pvp, ffxiv is not that exciting of a game to watch.
Save for a VERY few, most streamers aren't even worth watching. The game doesn't have the same grab a eSport does and the only thing that can draw viewers are streamers that know how to turn it into a show. And save for, say, Xeno, Arthars and Asmongold when he decided to stream FFXIV.
And let's face it, the rest of streamers are pretty much forgettable.
I find it funny someone thinks twitch streams numbers for an MMORPG are relevant.
People generally don't stream RPGs unless they've been out awhile because streaming something new that's story based will show loads of spoilers. In cases of newer releases and MMORPGs you're more likely to see clip videos on platforms like Youtube where the creator was able to avoid showing spoilers most of the time because it was previously recorded then edited.
About the only good thing I've seen from twitch lately are clip vids on youtube of streamers having a meltdown while playing Elden Ring.
I would sooner play then watch.
Twitch is lame, twitch chat culture is the worst I've ever seen, and cheaters need to get permanent bans not slaps on the wrists for a few days.
