Wishlist for new UI enhancements after announcements

+1 for chat bubbles, shield bar on ALL hp bars, ping/ fps display

Also:
- blacklist/ whitelist feature for party buffs, ideally with presets for easy switching if you want to see different things on tank, healer or dps
- independently scalable party list elements (e.g. HP bar height/ width, MP bar height/ width, party buff alignment left/ right/ top/ bottom of HP bars)
- option to independently hide party list elements (e.g. job icon, MP bar, level)
- costumizable party list text (font size, color, alignment)
- cooldown tracking of other classes' cooldowns (less important for statics, incredibly useful in DF/ PF)
- better highlighting of your own buffs in your buff bar and debuffs on the enemy (e.g. proc frame with a large number ticking down inside)
- option to have numerical value for all HP bars and cast bars
- costumizable nameplate display, only ticked groups are shown (e.g. party, alliance, friends, FC members)
- a square shape option for the minimap
- better visibility of the cardinal N/E/S/W letters on the minimap (it's gold on gold with minimal shading... come on...)

They could fix so many things, improve the QoL's... though I don't think we'll be seeing those anytime soon, I'm guessing in 6 or more months.

FWIW, it's possible to do a slidecast indicator with stock UI. It's kind of a hackish solution, though.

Namely, float a hotbar somewhere you can see it while looking at your castbar, then put an emote on that hotbar. When you start casting, the emote's icon will grey out, because an active cast blocks you from doing emotes. However, the instant the cast is committed to the server side, you're allowed to emote again and the emote button will no longer be disabled... which is also the moment at which you can slide-cast successfully without interrupting your cast.

Thus by keeping an eye on the emote icon, someone still learning can get a good feel for exactly when they can start a slide-cast.

Consistent audio cues.

Many of the debuffs already have these! The "woom woom woom" sound for a stack marker. The faint Imperial chime for a Divebomb. Every marker should have it's own unique sound, and they need to be consistent across fights.

Back in the day the only reason I ever managed to dodge the Leviathan waterspouts was because of the audio cue. I also suffer from pretty bad vertigo in certain arenas, and audio cues were the only way I can like.... not throw up on Sophia or Leviathan.

And in the latest Extreme fight, if there was an audio cue when the planets appear in stereo, it might help me to dodge Fatalism more accurately. I don't touch the mouse in combat so I can't turn my camera fast enough to see where I need to dodge.

(Sure would be nice if Elenchos mouth vs eyes had different audio cues, too.)

Put me in the group that would also like the option to do stuff like:

• Adjust the positioning of AOE stack markers that appear above characters heads (because I had to turn off my name and title to see the dots in P2S
• Optional chat bubbles above people's heads
• Change the colors of the standard AOE ground markers, with the option to "always high contrast" and go opposite the primary color of an arena
• Prioritize MY debuffs on the boss, since right now I have to bounce back and forth between actual target and focus target
• Make the buff/debuffs bigger. BIGGER. BIGGER. I am on a 2K monitor and I really really wanted to make my Fourfold Chains debuff three times larger than I was capable of doing.

These are all minor QoL buffs that other games give without a question.

That’s good to know albeit a bit round about, i know there’s some add-on floating around that puts a small box at the end of the cast bar that shows your slidecast window, i wouldnt think that would be too difficult to implement in game, and while small, it would do a lot to teach a crucial piece of black mage play that isn’t really highlighted in game

Also, my own list of QoL changes:

• Timers on the buffs/debuffs in the party list.
• Ability to set what "other people's buffs" I'd like ignored in the party list.
• Ability to set focus target to only show buffs or debuffs that I applied.
• Something to easily mark which things I've applied to my target, versus someone else. Is that Higanbana on the alliance raid target mine, or the SAM's in alliance B?
• Show any debuffs I've applied in the enemy aggro list, ideally with a timer.
• Give me a larger library of saved raid markers. At the very least, make it so that the five presets we have now are per-instance rather than overall. You don't let me apply them in the instance other than they one they belong to, and the presets are stored entirely client side, so there's very little excuse. (Yes, I know the likely excuse is that they do get uploaded to the server alongside any other configuration when you back up config to the server, so you don't want people having 8 bajillion waymarks in their saved config. I would be fine if you let me pick a few to upload, or even upload none, if it meant I could have more than five presets total.)
• Please, by all that you hold holy, let me move the 'toast' text that you use for so many random system and battle messages. ("The ram's eyes glow blue!", "You are unable to carry another Pomander of Steel.", "Venture complete.", etc.) I would like to put it somewhere -- anywhere -- other than dead center on the screen.
• "Pass All" or "Greed All" buttons in the loot window. I beg of you. Ideally with a "Remember setting for the rest of the instance." tickybox I can click first in Aurum Vale or Steel Vigil or whatever, and not have to see a loot window for the rest of the run.

300% bust slider

A hud panel to track your buffs or dots at the targeted enemy. Preferably with bars in addition of just icons+timers.

I think it's really hard to keep track of those on the regular buff or debuff windows without making them obnoxiously huge. Also in case of buffs it always mixes with other stuff which can be a little tricky to assess.

Also a hud panel to put your own action cooldowns as a tracker would be super. Currently I have to use two of my hotbars close to the center of the screen with the actions that I want to track, but I could use those two hotbars for something else...

Something to say what our stats actually contribute to our character other than a vague description of what the stat does. Ex: Crit Chance

DPS meter for your character so you can gauge your personal performance and learn to improve.

Better UI for buff / debuff tracking.
