Can devs finally address the feature controller is having issues on PC.

It's those random virtual device reconnects caused by the GamePass system that causes the hickups, you can check the Windows Event Log, there are entries every time you get a controller timeout.

I've currently removed all GP games and also disabled the polling in the registry via this change:

I use a wired controller and haven't had any issues. Have you checked the wire? The wire itself might have a tear or a break so it just drops connectivity.

When the problem happens it happens to both wired and wireless controllers, I checked.

I really hope square is going to check this due to there a addon to fix this.

Hey, I was searching regarding this issue and wanted to say that I'm having it as well. Prior to Endwalker, I've never experienced any issues with any controller. I've used xbox360, xbox one, ps4, ps5, and logitech over the years of playing (I've been playing since ARR). Ever since Endwalker's release, I have been having issues with inputs suddenly being eaten, and the controllers I own all display this issue regardless of wired or wireless. I've checked all of my settings, I don't use Game Pass, and I don't have FFXIV through steam as I got it before that was even really an option. I would love for there to be some better support for controller because now it's starting to become unplayable. The intervals in time are random, and the period in which I cannot do anything is almost like having the paralysis status effect. Does anyone know if the addon actually addresses this problem? I have no issues with any other games on my PC. It's just FFXIV that seems to cause this problem, and because of that, I haven't been able to enjoy high end content due to the inability to keep up when these blips in functionality occur.
