Nothing is very few if it's about an option. Male viera mostly used those as far as i seen at my server. Sometimes it makes a good combination with male's outfit :)

I agree with removing gender locks.
I'd also really appreciate if they would just remove or adjust the job restrictions too. It's ridiculous that each job has their own set even though they're all visual clones. I'm sure it's for the titles, but who cares if someone gets a couple titles from a single set? And all this without an expansion of glamour dresser slots. I'm already capped on storage and now they want me to buy how many sets of armour?
This is maybe the dumbest excuse I've read for them not doing something.
Now they can't adjust or make new glams because the company is too big? It's like a parody of "small indie company btw".
If this massive game developer with all its staff and money and resources can't make enough content because everything has to be checked and approved by one guy, then it's time to hire more game directors.
Given that we're stuck with job locks, I think it's for glamour purposes, not just titles.
GNB and RPR were in an awkward position where the jobs they normally share gear with had job-specific outfits in the old collaboration. (For the newer jobs where the gear was role-based, like DNC and SGE, they did simply get added to the older sets.)
It's not so obvious with the female set, but the male aiming set suits GNB's vibe really well and is a much better choice than assigning then to one of the heavy armour sets that the other tanks use. Likewise for RPR getting the striking gear model, but both genders work well. The long black coat and halfmask is much better for them than the gaudy white armour that DRG has.
Anyway, once you have the titles, you don't need to keep the gear if you're not using it. The Calamity Salvager will sell it back to you if you discard it.
I'm okay with gender lock. Not everything needs to be for everyone.
My problem is why do I have the option to buy the gender locked gear that I can't wear? Lost more than a few wolf's marks due to not realizing/paying attention.
I'm willing to accept any and all technical reasons as for why X or Y outfit isn't unisex. Hell, I can also accept "we made it that way because we want it to be that way."
At the same time, I feel that "uniqueness" coming down to "this gender can wear a pair of shoes and the other one can't!" is hilariously lame, especially in a game in which any character can be any job and can engage with most activities regardless of race or gender.

Gender locking the head-pieces is especially ridiculous.
I would prefer weapons for newer classes (SB and beyond). They make class-specific gear for Gunbreaker and Reaper, but zero weapon, lol.
I recently noticed that not only are the older Garo clothes still gender-locked, but so are the brand-new ones that were just made for newer jobs… Why? Square Enix, please stop perpetuating these arbitrary and problematic restrictions.
