What's your Monitor Size?

I couldn't stand using my TV before I had my monitor, text was to blury and the image quality wasn't as good.

That's only if you're using a standard-definition TV or something lousy that's not been manufactured for several years now.

iunno, i use a Samsung 32" 1080P LCD-HDTV and asde from it being ever so slightly too sharp sometimes, it's absolutely phenominal.

That was what I was thinking, of course the person with two monitors, different size, would say that anything else was too much. I have a purpose for all my monitors, and different people will need different numbers. But to say more than two, smaller, monitors are enough for anyone is a bad statement, wrong even. Just because it is good for you, doesn't mean it is enough for everyone. I use my top TV for watching something when I want to relax, or putting a stream or show up for friends when we LAN. I use my middle monitor for gaming, my right for internet, and my left for documents, generally. I can do all of this, without hurting my gaming experience, no going in and out of the game to do certain tasks.

And that is just for gaming, it does wonders for school work, being able to have a Word up and Mathematica and Matlab at the same time is amazing.

The TV vs. monitor thing has alot to do with size which is being left out here often, on my 46" I wouldn't sit close enough that the fuzzy edges @1920x1080 matter, my 22" tv connected through VGA looks as good as my 24" monitor and keeps me from being tethered to my desk so I'm biased by convienence too.

There's also the matter of connection type, HDMI isn't the "best" for PC displays but most newer TVs have support for more than just AV/S-Vid/Composite, with VGA/Display Port/DVI/HDMI being almost universal you can find TVs that support resolutions higher than 1080p and cables that make them look as good. It just costs more.

Portait is overall better than landscape, it keeps the 16:9 (1.77:1) aspect ratio so you don't have to worry about you don't have to deal with stretched out textures when using 3+ monitors

Less head movement and peripheral vision required also.

The only drawback is you pretty much have to have a IPS panel monitor or you will suffer from poor viewing angles if you use TN panel monitor

tried a 40" tv didn't like it all that much....
now i have a 23" monitor that looks better then the TV did....
and a 20" for my mule/internet/movie PC

Depends on where I want to play. If there's something on TV Ill play on my 23inch Acer Monitor at 1920x1080, or I can play on my 40inch HDTV too :D

I use a 24" Samsung LED monitor. I'm happy with it.
