agreed, 200 is barely enough for the top floor in a small house.
I'm not being insulting, I'm not saying people are simpletons- But I know not everyone knows how to decorate their houses therefore only see as much as they've dealt with within FFXIV housing system so it's annoying to me when they make statements to exclude something when it comes to house decorating/ interior item limits. They're okay if small houses are left out because it doesn't effect them specifically. But that's not an insult, that's a fact in quite a few cases I've seen on these forums over the past few years.
I get text can come off not in the intended way it's meant to.
But back to FFXIV: When someone won't try to engage in the entirety of the decorating system, they won't realize how messed up it is or limiting it can be- and I've seen people say to basically ignore small housing if item limits are increased and it's like, "but why?"
I appreciate the suggestions but I didn't ask for them or advice on where to go.
I indulge my extreme house decorating just fine in FFXIV- but the truth of the matter is, all house sizes need an interior item storage increase and place item increase. There's zero reason to leave 1 out due to someones lack of knowledge on what it takes to decorate in comparison to satisfaction when it comes to extreme house decorating.
And if we see these changes that have been asked for time & time again in the next few years, remains up in the air. I won't hold my breath.
I rebuild our FC house this weekend.
This is using 200 items in just the top floor of a small house.

Make apartments bigger also, please.
when you take floor space into account, cottages defo have it better than houses and mansions. a house has around triple the floor space to decorate of a cottage (3 floors instead of 2 and each one around double the size) but it only has a 50% increase in items (300 vs 200). So all those complaining that 200 isn't enough in a cottage: you might wanna save your gil and stick to a cottage over that mansion you've likely been eyeing up, because you really need to be a lot more creative with your item limit to actually fill the space.
Well, to be fair most people who get a Medium/Large end up just blocking off one of the floors and putting everything in the other(s).
I blocked off my bottom floor (i have a small) bc to make good of the space, you have to- then suddenly you're capped- legit if it got atleast a 250 item increase that would be enough
something like 250 for small, 350 for medium, 450 for large or better yet,
300 for small, 400 for medium and 500 for large
I think we should start small. Something like 5/10/15 more outdoor item slots and maybe 20/40/60 indoor for the respective sizes.
