Did TRUST info in Live Letter 68 seal the fate for SQUADRONS?

Yeah it's sad, since I like squadron but hate trust.
What I'd really want is squadron to be unlockable sooner in the GC climb, as on alts by the time you unlock it you're 50 or something, and by the time you levelled it you're way past 60, so unless you level more classes later you're never gonna use it. And I would really like to use it to level alts with.

The Squads need their AI updated before they get pushed to do higher-level dungeons, because goodness, they're painful to work with. IMO there's more a difference between Trusts and Squadrons than just their AI and what expansion they're available in too - Trusts have Jobs, and can be flex roles. Squadrons still use abilities from ye-olde times and are stuck with Classes. Given Yoshida's answer that they'll get their own updates, I have my fingers crossed that it'll be an intelligence uplift; but probably it's going to be a new section of daily/weekly missions or a new training/leveling method.

Trust = a Program that is thought each specific mechanic/duty
Squadron = a Program that adapts to each duty (even if in weird ways)

Trusts are a lot more work then copy pasting the Squadron "AI" so unless SE has a lot of time on their hand they will not rework more Trusts into old content or upgrade squadron "AI". They only did this because the outcry for MSQ was too loud. Lets see if it helps.

Our squadron members can be just a skin over a Trust NPC. Rather than Alphinaud healing copperbell, they just put cecily's skin over him and use a generic script to do the talking.

They don't need to update squadrons really, just slide their skin over the generic trust members. Change their name. A few variables in the text - as happens everywhere - do the rest.

I mean you can colour them the way you want, i talked about how they act not how they look. Alphinaud with squadron AI will stand in the fire and take less dmg then a player. Trust Alphinaud is programmed to not stand in the fire manually for every single mechanic down to the point they tell him where to run each and every moment of a fight.

No, sorry, I think you misunderstand me - this isn't about making Alphinaud work like the Squad. This is about making the squad work like Alphinaud. It's likely that SE will just use some generic GC members to be the three running with you, generic healer, generic tank, generic DPS in whatever combination...

So rather than Falafel Lafalal being your trust smart AI healer whio knows how to do mechanics, if you have her, Cecily's body is slid over Falafel's and Cecily is in effect now an AI healer as trust.

If you take her as a squad... not trust... then she runs in her body and is basically braindead and a bad healer. But in a trust, with your glam on her, she is basically Falafel, the healer wearing a skin.

I don't think so, necessarily. There's actually a variety of supporting characters they could draw on, dungeon by dungeon, filling in gaps with existing minor Scions and adventurers.

I am thinking there's a fair chance we'd actually get Edda's party in Sastasha, for example, and some other early-game adventurer teams. Then minor Scions from the Waking Sands prior to their untimely demise – if I were a writer there I'd particularly be looking for an excuse to get Arenvald and his friends Aulie and A'aba Tia in one of the early dungeons while we can have them. The other two die in the raid and Arenvald mentions them a lot, but players could easily miss them in the current state of the game.

I would expect to see a few characters picking up a second job or turning up in places they previously didn't.

So dose that means we could get Minfilia in some of the dungeons, and when she uses certain skill she will yell out pray return to the waking sands
