Ignoring that Maxima and Lucia were both there, and that Gaius was wanted for assassinating the emperor, so yes, bringing along the guy that to the average Garlean citizen was a kingslayer would have made things worse.

Playing through ARR to SHB before EW was a reminder of how little attention most people seem to pay to the story.
So many things I see people complain about are spelled out numerous of times even.
People still don't understand how Flow works even tho it was explained like three times in a short period of time one after the other and then again at two other points in two later expansions.
