Where do you hope the story goes next? (SO MANY SPOILERS, AVERT THINE EYES CHILD!!!)

I feel like people generally are putting too much stock in this being "the start of a new story" just because they brought Zodiark and Hydaelyn to a definitive end in 6.0 instead of dragging it out to 6.3. I don't see this as any different to the end of 5.0 feeling like a very definite ending to that story arc and yet we picked it straight back up again in 5.1 to introduce new problems or return to secondary ones in the existing zones.

I am expecting 6.X to be an "inbetween" arc, tying off loose ends and positioning the story for new things, but that it will be 7.0 that really kicks off the new story arc in a way that new players can boost to the start of the expansion and start from there.

It simply doesn't make sense to put the critical first chapter of the new story arc in the patch quests of the conclusion to the previous story, where people will have to play through 6.0 to see it - or at least, be expected to skip to 7.0 and then immediately navigate back to unlock New Game Plus and play 6.X.

As for new zones in the patch quests, it seems unlikely that we'd get a true new field zone, but I'm expecting Corvos as an additional Eureka-type zone. As I noted in another thread, it's been well set up in the story and they can reuse landscape assets from Thavnair (nearby), Labyrinthos (designed to mimic Corvos) and Allagan ruins, rather than designing an entirely new place. The ruins may also provide a source for relic weapons.

Two story threads I really want to see:

1. I would love to make a trip back to Amaurot and visit the other Hythlodaeus. I'm sure he'd appreciate hearing about everything that's happened.

2. We need take Omega (and Alpha) back to Ultima Thule to meet up with the Omicrons. Assuming they haven't already found their own way there.

As far as possible from the power of friendship, fake deaths and Alisaie.

I want an HW kind of story. With mayyyyybe 1 scion and a whole new cast of NPCs.

I hope they include

Meracydia > Warring Triads > Alagan History elsewhere on the planet > Who the twelve are ( spririts or elders?) > Tiamat

Endwalker left many things open and dropped so many names to lead us to think about places we will probably go to at some point, but that doesn't say much about the threats we will be facing in the near future.
The Twelve will be tackled in the 24man.
Corvos is probably going to be our exploration zone (Bozja/Eureka-like).
I hope Pandaemonium will explain how Emet and Lahabrea survived.
I think Meracydia, and meeting with Azdaja is probably on top of my list. Especially considering the way they are brought up.

But there are other things of course, which I can see being tackled in the 6.X patch cycle:
- Garlemald's future (similar to how we had the politic arc in Eulmore in 5.1),
- Y'Shtola working on a way to travel to other shards (she said it to Runar, and mentioned it again in 6.0. She will definitely do it.)
- Kairos is still around and will be -or will be used by- the next villain
- Gosetsu surprisingly did not make a come back in the 6.0 cutscenes, I can see him joining us in the near future, maybe as a trust NPC, with one of the next new jobs.

I think we might be heading to Meracydia, but I hope we go to the 13th somehow and try to learn how to convert the voidsent back (and watch as they are eventually all turn into au'ra, I will cling to the au'ra were originally voidsent that were cured theory until I get absolute proof otherwise)

Speaking of traveling to other shards, I wonder if we will encounter the warriors of light that we see the specters of during Shadbowbringers 5.3. The necromancer had some interesting dialogue, and it would be pretty cool if we could meet her and perhaps even help her.

Let's see:

2.0 - starting zones
3.0 - cold place
4.0 - Asian-inspired location
5.0 - alternate timeline
6.0 - outer space
6.0.1 - afterlife-themed place

6.x/7.x - maybe new adventures in the home of dragons? I believe that's one of the places Emet mentioned.

Step One: Take a dive in the aetherial sea, scoop Minfilia out of there, and bring her back to life.
Step Two: Take her on an adventure. Krile can come to.
???
New World expansion in 7.0.

Final Fantasy just as a franchise isn't a grounded fantasy tho :P.
I wouldn't call ARR that either unless you have a VERY loose definition of it.
