The sound of this expansion is completely broken for me. Purely garbage. Impossible to play with it turned on.
But it's a free game. Imagine if I was paying monthly to play =D

I think it's that silly 3D bolton they added. https://youtu.be/3aE6f-d5u0k?t=12 which sounds absolutely disgusting in it's own right, but has clearly broken the sound for people who don't use it, with certain configurations.
My sound keeps cutting out on a regular basis then returns. It's annoying.
I got even better narrative.
Squeezix recently announced that they are releasing a "spatial audio system" for FFXIV, partnered with panasonic to release that hardware.
First prototypes come rolling out, they realize that their audio is dated and make a great decision of making a hasty deal with Embody.
Which causes hectic rework of a sound engine and rollback from XAudio to WinMM.
Stop being the epitome of the angry customer.
They've acknowledged the issue; they're working on the issue.
Your adult choices are:
A) Keep playing and ignore the issue, possibly shut off the sound and play your own music; or
B) Cancel your subscription and re-activate it at a later date when the sound issues are fixed; or
C) Cancel your subscription and never come back, thereby depriving SE of revenue to drive your point home.
What's with all this posse nonsense we do these days?
"I ain't got my way, lemme gather 100 other folks that feel like me and we'll DEMAND what we want!"
LMFAO, do you think that when you hit 100 sigs, the servers will come down and a patch will magically be applied to fix the sound issues? All you are doing is perpetuating frustration, anger, and giving 100 clueless people the idea that what they're doing will garner results.
Grow up and pick A, B or C above and move on with life. Your behaviors reflect badly on humankind in general. I mean, seriously, an online petition to fix a video game bug that's already been acknowledged. Is there nothing better to petition for?
No, they did not.
As far as we know, no they are not.
And that is a good reason to be frustrated and angry about.
For now, I am gauging public interest on the matter and maintaining a platform to keep interested people informed on developments.
If enough people express their interest, I will take it one notch further and issue a letter addressed to square enix.
If that does not help, we can start thinking class-action lawsuit.
The rest of that message I am not going to dignify with a response.
Simple, you have to get other people. I worked a short time for a large publisher. Think one of the top 5. I did support for players. It was one of those times in my life where COVID is going on and I could do it from home and make a few extra bucks. Plus, free games, talk to people about games, and easy to boot.
If a player came to us with an issue, it was a simple response with an answer that every player gets. It wasn't until we started getting multiple cases of an issue that we would look into things. Granted, the people with a hot head, would still get ignored, but just letting you know there has to be a voice to be heard or you'll just get asked to send your DxDiag and SysInfo file for when the threshold of reports is reached.
I can't think of many things more useless than change.org but thanks for continuing to raise awareness of this issue. Been playing this game for a decade and no audio issues but then 6.0 rolls in with that stupid spatial audio thing and now I get sound stutters and audio playback slowing down. Messing with in-game settings helps sometimes but it's always temporary.
I know they tried blaming older hardware or configurations and pushing it back on the customer but were quickly debunked, but it's a bad look to try and pull the "just upgrade your hardware" card at this current point in time especially.
Keep reporting in the Bugs forums and hopefully they consider a rollback of some manner or severing support for the 3D audio gimmick that no one asked for.
I'm just gonna leave this here:
