Now that there will be no more Races, What should Square focus on now?

More customization options for the existing races.

More unique gear designs and less re-used stuff (hello EW leveling gear)

Cape physics

I would love a UI overhaul, personally.

* There are so many menus that could be made more tangible, or could be reverted to HUD or drop-downs instead of these ugly windows.
* Actions that should be instantaneous have some sort of animation delay like melding, desynthesis, mounts that should probably be removed.
* Would appreciate quicker ways to key up custom hotbars; I keep putting it off because there's so much tweaking.
* Removal of the wardrobe, allow us to glam any equipment we have received in the past. The job bloat is real now and it's unfair to expect us to only keep 400 items per character.
* LET US CHANGE GLAMS OUTSIDE OF CITIES.
* Give my Hroth hats plz. I am a dapper gent.

Here's the thing. Aside from Blitzer and some sort of Green Mage greathammer job, I don't really need more jobs. But I do need faster farming/desynth/selling and a less restrictive glam system. I would gladly pay for a 7.0 expansion with only one new job if the resources were diverted toward updating the game's decade-old infrastructure and interfaces.

Hroth and Viera need to be able to wear all hats and hairstyles.

Then focus on older races, give males more beard options, add other stuff like body tattoo etc.

Definitely character customization. It's really noticeable just how much better crafted Viera and Hrothgar are on a technical level. Even Au Ra stand out in that respect, though not nearly as much. None of this is to say the original races are bad. They just need a facelift... pun intended.

non ps2 textures, a real antialiasing technique that is not 20 years old

First they should fix viera and hrothgar to actually be able to use hairstyles and hats. I have no clue how they can do this for hrothgar, but fair is fair.

Then they should work on the thing that they should have been working the whole time instead of adding new races - high-resolution textures. The new icons and other UI elements finally look great on the QHD monitor I've been playing the game on for years, but every character in every cutscene looks horrendous. Poor Krile's nose is like seven very-distinct squares pretending to be a shadow!

Making jobs feel unique again and have some flavor.

Everyone has already said the sensible suggestions... So I will say we need more chocobo race tracks. Gimme the Chocobo Race on the moon!
