Thoughts on Relocation removal

I agree it a win towards flippers but at what cost?
It wouldn't eliminate it but if you only could relocate once every 90 days that would helped a lot too imo.

I seen no info on this but I'm going to assume it full price since we have to pay up-front when buying the ticket, I doubt SE is that proactive and will refund some when you relocate it, in the event you actually win the lottery...

Let me explain something to you. I own my solo FC because not everyone wants to be in drama filled larger FC’s filled with immature and envious people.

I chose to build my own and became extremely rich through hard work and dedication. My FC is rank 30 with all maxed out airships and submarines. I did it all by myself.

My home doesn’t just sit there unused. I am very happy there. I just asked a simple question. I can always create Alts and put them in my FC so I can have 4 total members that’s not the issue.

I think before you assume you know what’s going on get the facts straight.

I was thinking more of it as a discount, like it currently is (so you would pay less to apply than if you didn't own a plot at all).
If it is as you say and there is no discount, and no way to officially resell the house, then the lottery system is really defavorable to anyone who wanted to relocate in 6.1 and beyond :/ You don't get priority, you've already bought a house, and now you have to buy a new one from scratch...? It's a bit much.
But since this hasn't been confirmed or denied by SE we can only hope they've taken at least that bit into consideration.

I like the idea of limiting relocation to once per X amount of days so people can't abuse it.
I'm sure there are other ways that relocating can be restricted to prevent plot selling, without removing all of the advantages it currently has (even banning plot selling advertisement in Party Finder would help...).

Maybe before new wards and new housing areas open, plot owners could get a unique, untradable item (like a relocation ticket) that would allow them to relocate instantly?
Since it's a unique item you can't stock them up if you already have one, and you can decide to use it whenever you wish, meaning you could relocate to the new area right away, or save it for your dream plot in an existing area.
That or an "allowance" with a singe-use cap, kind of like leves or Custom Deliveries, except it only resets when new wards are released.
Since housing wards and areas aren't added that often, this also adds a natural restriction on how many relocations you'd be allowed per expansion.

Example A: You have a house in Mist, you want to move to Empyreum. One week before 6.1 you get in Moogle Post a relocation ticket. When 6.1 releases you use that ticket to immediately relocate to a plot in Empyreum. One year later, new housing wards are announced in patch 6.X. One week before the release of 6.X you get in Moogle Post a new relocation ticket.

Example B: You have a house in Goblet, you want to move next to your friend in Lavender Beds. As 6.1 releases you get 1 "allowance" for relocating. You decide to not use it until the plot next to your friend's opens. One year later, new housing wards are announced in patch 6.X. As 6.X releases you DON'T get a new "allowance", since you already have one.

I'm thinking that Moogle Post is probably easier to handle for GMs, since that's already how they manually deliver rewards like Firmament titles and Community Event prizes, but an "allowance" would totally prevent exploitation.

I would have preferred the wait period for relocation, too. But, I can see how that would still be abused by the relocation snipers. This way relocation sales are dead in the water and ward scanning to snap up medium and large demos will stop being a thing.

All that's left is reselling FCs, which while hampered a bit will still continue under the current rule changes. They've done nothing to stop people from easily handing over FC leader to a level 1 alt, or to a buyer who just joined the FC. No mention of brand new FCs having a waiting period before trying to buy a lotto ticket or click a placard. Or a lockout period after you purchase an FC house or even that they'll be monitoring purchases to see if certain accounts are buying them up too frequently and investigating.

This will also only increase the use of botting software to automate placard clicking in First Come/First Serve wards. It's bad now, imagine how much worse it's going to get when these changes are implemented.

In short, this is a welcome change, but doesn't do nearly enough and won't stop people abusing the system for profit. It also does nothing to address the root of the problem: We need more housing.

Edit: I see now I misinterpreted something. They ARE making it so you cannot hand FC master over to a new member. That will certainly be helpful! Won't stop it, but definitely make it harder.

I don't really have an issue with relocations being on equal footing with first time purchases. I actually thought it was a bug/oversight at first that they were allowed to bypass the timer. While I understand some people see it as just a process, it's possible that someone without a plot actually spent more time attempting to get into the system than someone that's managed to get one. In my opinion, they should not be put at the back of the line for their dream plot simply because their attempts thus far at getting anything have been unsuccessful.

I think there might be another reason why there'd be nobody else in your FC, but its just a theory.

I'm really not a fan and honestly really dishearted. I have been wanting to move my large out of the goblet for a year and 1/2 now and have been saving since then. I was hoping to move to Ishgard and if that fall thought maybe pick up a large in any of the other areas that are not the Goblet from ppl moving to Ishgard. Now I really don't know what I'm going to do. Hopefully, Ishgard housing in 6.1 won't be on a timer and I just can try to beat someone to a house, I'll even downgrade to a medium if I have to. If they continue to go down this road they should just either make every housing area into a lottery, give us instance housing, or maybe make goblet not look so damn ugly and brown(sorry to those who like the goblet but I just hate the way it looks is all). :-/ Either way just have to wait and see. I love they putting the lottery system in to stop the whole camping stuff but then turn around make ppl who want to relocate camp and play the whole "spam the placard" game.

Lol nah. Honestly, I just got tired of spending hours and hours making other peoples FC’s wealthy and great and I got little to nothing I return.

There were times when if I didn’t log in the FC duties wouldn’t be taken care of at all yet their bank was over 6 figures because of me. I cared deeply and even sacrificed allot of my free time for them because my discord never stopped ringing because someone always needed something. It was a huge responsibility and at first I took it and didn’t mind but when you start to feel like you were being taken for granted and when voiced you were ignored and then continued to be used.

I knew I could do it on my own and that’s why I did. I wished them all the best and struck out on my own and I’m very happy. Never again will I be any FC’s door mat. Sorry if you thought my response was harsh but I was just being transparent and honest. I just do better on my own.

This is an excellent idea. I see so many houses owned by FCs in my FC's ward that are undecorated, empty and owned by 1 person FCs. The one that is directly next to us? We see him log in every once in a blue moon, walk into the house, then logout... its disheartening.
