Predict the endwalker healing meta!

I think the meta will be: SCH/SGE for prog, SCH/AST or still SCH/SGE for everything else
My reasoning: SCH and SGE seem to be very strong together, the only downside is that you can't stake Galvanize with Eukrasian Diagnosis/Prognosis, which doesn't really matter. Lots of passive healing with Embrace and Kardia, big shields and enough burst healing. 10% damage mitigation available at all times and a 20s movement buff to resolve mechanics easier. For farm and speedrun parties, SCH and AST still have their rDPS buffs
Factors that might subvert my prediction: I don't think anything can change SCH/SGE being better for prog, but RNG may push AST out of farm/speedrun parties if SGE can bring more DPS if AST has bad RNG.

I'd predict AST/SGE

Reasoning for AST is obvious. It's a pure healer with access to a 10% mitigation on a 1 min cooldown (twice as often as WHM) and even a shield, on top of a ridiculously good heal toolkit. Sage is similar to SCH but without paying aether heal dps tax, eating its fairy periodically and losing access to oGCDs or dealing with any potential AI issues. Some of the Sage toolkit is really good too.
I see Chain Stratagem mentioned but raid buffs mean absolutely nothing if they don't result in higher rdps. There's a reason Sam and BLM are extremely strong this expansion and Bard isn't that great. I see nothing in SCH's kit that pushes it above Sage overall. Combat Peleton for movement is a meme, it's just an extra reprisal or Temperance (which is useful). That said SCH's toolkit is still good and raid mitigation is useful, so there should still be a place for it in the meta even if it's not the primary choice.

I see no place for WHM for high end gameplay. It just has overheal plant and an otherwise inferior toolkit. It's baby's first healer until you upgrade to something that actually functions and a joke.

Factors that might change things are obviously dps potencies for a start. If it turns out that WHM and SCH just bring higher dps and healing is so easy it doesn't matter who has the best toolkit, we'll enter a WHM/SCH meta simply because it results in more rdps. AST is on slightly shaky ground because unlike the other three, Malefic did not get a damage increase, so they're clearly expecting Lord and Astrodyne to make the few % difference and those are based on rng. But WHM is only getting +3.3% on Glare so it should be fine. Numbers might change though before release.

Somehow, I still don't see Sage replacing SCH in the meta.
So I would say SCH/AST as the "meta" but the most players would probably be SGE/AST or SGE/WHM.

I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with PLD as "main" and GnB as "off" tank, although this will heavily depend on their dps output. PLD may not have any selfheal on it's 1-2-3 combo but you get a free 1600 potency heal every 60 seconds from your 4x Holy Spirit (which may or may not also allow you to proc Divine Veil by yourself now), Holy Shelltron seems like an incredible mitigation tool with it's ~30% and 1000 potency regen, while GnB has the superior support tool in Heart of Corundum (roughly 30% mitigation on anyone you cast it on + a mini excog of roughly 900 potency + Brutal Shell barrier + no resource cost VS Intervention's ~20% unbuffed + the 1000 potency regen and 50 gauge cost) and 2 stacks of Aurora that they can put on the Paladin.


As for healers, as boring as SCH is to play it will probably still take the spot together with AST, simply due to their strong rdps contributions and more than adequate healing kits.

AST/SCH
SGE is just Shield white mage so SGE will be much better for unprepared groups or pugs
while much more optimized/organised groups SCH would work better

SGE is like WHM where it doesn't really do anything for anybody else, and only brings personal damage and seemingly a lot of healing tools. SCH brings damage buffs to the group, like AST, so SCH may be preferred. Also the aoe sprint is memes, but it's also useful.

The problem for pld main is with no is that war has 6400 potency heal every min and that’s without thrill and storms path in it. With pld as off tank you get around 8400 potency heals in a war and with a sage you get easy over 10000-12000 heal potency per min for free on the target that gets the most dmg. To be fair you get the almost the same heal potency if you have war as off tank and pld as main tank and as people told gnb is gonna be really cancer in prog.

I'm expecting SCH and AST to be the top duo again simply because buff stacking has historically outweighed any raw DPS advantage WHM has and SGE isn't really looking to shake things up in that regard.

As good as Sage's raw potency looks on paper.... We've been here before with HW/SB WHM. Chain will singlehandedly keep SCH in the meta unless the stat squish truly crucifies the fairy healing output somehow.

AST/SCH is my pick.

That isn't to say WHM and Sage don't look like they will be entirely viable. There's a very real chance that's exactly what my static will end up running.
