2.0 - How many more classes and jobs? Future considerations....

That's my biggest worry about the class --> Job system. I'd rather we have 7-10 classes and jobs being a combination of those base classes.... maybe have 2 jobs stemming from classes. I wouldn't mind if a Marauder could become a western fighter "Warrior" and and Eastern fighter "Samurai" as opposed to having another class for samurai.

Also, a scout class can become either a thf and/or a ninja.

The only problem that this may present is that if you alrady have the bases class at 50, you get the corresponding job at 50, without having to level or learn the job. But, that's what we had when 1.21 came out. Many people got 7 jobs without ever having to level anything. That's not necessarily a bad thing.

Yes, i would be very disappointed, especially since i like both jobs and would like to see them both full-fledged jobs, and this i think is just the start of many problems this dual class/job system can introduce.

I suppose it's not such a bad idea stemming multiple jobs from one class, atleast that may solve some of these dilemmas.
If SE is really going to go through the trouble of creating one to one class/job pair, they may just be putting more on their plate than they can handle. I would honestly rather they just focus on getting jobs out and stop wasting time on classes. Jobs can be easily tweaked to handle solo/diversity more efficiently which really is the little distinction classes have from jobs atm. That to me sounds like much less work for SE than having to worry about creating classes and jobs together all the time along with specific lore, content, gear, etc for each one of them, not to mention the very possible dissatisfaction from the playerbase when they pull the wrong strings with their class/job decisions.

While i appreciate the idea of trying something new and interesting, in this instance though, I think it's all too confusing, a hassle and a potential can of worms for no good reason.

I don't see why they can't have multiple jobs to a single class. I think Samurai could stem from lancer pretty easily, Samurai did go into battle with a spear and fought with it until they lost it before they pulled their katana after all. Same with Thief, 30 GLD 15 PUG and the traits give you bonus' for damage with daggers (just an example). No reason to require new classes for new jobs, it will just require a few tweaks in the UI department for equipping them.

Personally i would like to see a new caster to try and even out the War/Magic ratio, along with Red Mage and Summoner jobs.

what we have is not the end all of things

I like the FFT way of doing it. add maybe 2-3 more classes, and off those you get different jobs unlocked with the right levels of certain classes...

I'm hoping Fencer => Red Mage is eventually announced. I won't accept anything less than that.

The game really needs a greatsword/katana/sword DD type class. Gladiator/Paladin is more of a shield class than anything.

I just want a great sword Dark Knight so I have a Cecil thing going for my character.

Above all else, I just want Musketeer.

Icing on the cake would be Musketeer as a class and Corsair as its job.

they better expand inventory space with it then , +2 classes/jobs = 3x boss weapons for each job/class + AF for each job.
