The trouble with telling tanks W2W pulls are a mandatory norm.

Dunno why people have such problems with healing, despite my previous statement, i can heal mount gulg with modified scaven gear as a scholar just fine and that with wall to wall pulls. If the tank is decent ofc and doesn't take all the avoidable aoes.

It's just a matter of using your skills.

2 packs minimum, every one should be able to do that at least. More if people are up for it

Always pull 2 packs first. See if the healing and dps are good. If so then wall to wall. If not then take it slow.

Depends really. There's a couple duties where I've done a specific group by itself either because I got tired of seeing DPS sleeping on the floor because they aren't paying attention to AoE markers or the monsters themselves are so fat they cause grouping problems for AoEs by pushing everything around.

You can't really wall to wall levelling dungeons. But 50/60/70/80 and all levelling dungeons from Shadowbringers have stop gates. You can 100% pull to the gate in every one of those dungeons and if you aren't then you are wasting people's time.

In fact, it's so easy to wall to wall in every level 80 dungeons, you don't even need a healer in the party at all. All the expert dungeons can be easily done with 1 tank, 3 DPS without any issues at all.

Who is this 'wall to wall' police I keep reading about on the forums? My experience with dungeons so far has been a 50/50 split between big pulls and single pulls. There have also been instances of tanks trying to do big pulls and either the healer or the DPS being unable to keep up, thus resulting in a wipe. They adjust accordingly, we keep going, the end.

Not once since my return to FFXIV did I hear anyone in a group complain about the tank's pulling. Sometimes the healer will politely let the tank know that they can pull more if they're comfortable doing so, but that's about it.

So, moral of the story, pull at whatever pace suits you, because very few apparently care enough to make a fuss about it.

The tantrums about tank pulls are very specifically a forum thing.

Most people in the actual game really don't care that much, and are willing to roll with whatever's happening as long as the group is making progress. On the forums, however... end of the world. Single pulling tanks are toxic casuals; the groups that are letting these tanks get away with it are enabling toxic behavior; even having to request wall to wall pulls is unacceptable, they should just happen; etc. Then you get in game and the reality is that a lot of healers outside of expert roulettes are sprouts, leveling an alt, not geared and will probably panic if you pull the whole place.

People on the forums give advice with the express purpose of indirectly bragging. It's best to ignore this tiny hivemind and just talk to people in-game if you're not sure how they want to approach content.

I don't think its mandatory. I would never ask a tank to do them if they didn't feel like they could handle it. Doesn't bug me if they do small pulls or wall to wall pulls.

A tank job is to set the pace of the group, and if the tank wants to pull slow or whatever way. The dps and healer has no input that is needed or required.
