The difference is that in a dungeon or alliance raid, there are gaps between each boss where no fighting is happening and they could be kicked.
In an 8-person raid, once it's pulled, you are in battle up until the clear, unless there is a wipe.

Didnt read everything but back in the days it was active that we could kick other players during combat. Personally i had a very very bad deltascape 4.0 run when it came out and ate literally all ice spells which froze and instakilled me everytime. Thats an understandable reason to kick someone as they dont really contribute to the fight.
On the other hand people would probably kick others like a second before the fight ends and the kicked people gained zero at the end despite helping a lot. (Maybe or maybe not.) Thats one of the main reasons i'd assume it got disabled.
Dont get me wrong. Going afk in the middle or at the beginning of a fight if it wasnt an emergency is a no-go. But we can't prove it if it was an emergency or not so yeah.. thats that.
It would certainly be great if it worked like that in MSQ Roulette to boot the deadbeat leeches.
As a healer who gets griefed too often though, I can see it working the other way: people who don't know about oGCD healing kicking """DPS bots""" for """not healing""". Which would be fixed with a proper tutorial in game though, but we can't have nice things
Just because the group is able to carry someone doesn't mean that behavior is excusable. It's one thing to be new or something and make mistakes, it's another to just put in zero effort and mooch off the rest of the raid. It slows down the raid and wastes everyone else's time.
A) If you’re having such a bad “emergency” you’re gonna be gone for 15-30 minutes. Leave. Don’t be a drain on other players and let us fill up that spot with someone who will contribute.
B) You 100% CAN prove they’re leeching...because they’re still there! You’re automatically kicked after 5 minutes of inactivity in a dungeon. So if you’re still at the entrance of Syrcus Tower 15 minutes in or only turn up at Ultima Weapon 45 minutes into a Praetorium you’re quite obviously and intentionally not helping, while also preventing the in game system from removing you.

Every duty should have a place to drop combat and healing shouldn't keep you in combat if mobs are dead.
Unless they instantly open the loot chest and not roll on it.
Which I'll note according to one of my GM's themselves, is 100% not okay to do intentionally for any reason, so, no, as it turns out, it's not okay just because we cleared, even according to the gm's people praise so much.
