I'm still looking for reasons to actually run it and level them. There's really no need for them after doing the dungeon (the first time) to learn the mechanics by watching them do it lol. After that, they go back on the burner again till next set of dungeons become available (on the new patches)
I’d use them but having to level then by running a dungeon 6 times per NPC… nope. They need to boost the exp or do away with the leveling of them. As it is now, they spent a lot of money on making the trust system but not many use it due to not being able to because of the level wall.
FFXI's trust system is much better than xiv's-- and that's basically what I hoped for with the Grand company. We use GC soldiers for overworld (stuff like fates for ourselves)-- and then trusts in dungeons for dungeon based content (aside from raids and 24man raids)
After doing the requisite squadron missions for grand company rank, I never tried trusts and have no plans to do so.
I enjoy running dungeons, but doing so with NPCs was painfully boring.
I leveled all of them on my main and on one of my alts.
I leveled enough of them to be able to farm dungeons for gear for alts if I needed it.
But no, not worth itespecially when we can see that members can/will be swapped out.
Edit: this is not to say I don’t like the trust system as it is. It is great to use to get passive xp (while watching Netflix or doing laundry), or for my wife who hates running with randos.
Also edit: as Icsah pointed out, we can in fact continue to use missing members (Ryne) in dungeon reruns.
Haven’t touched them, and not sure I ever will.
i did it as soon as they reduced the requierd exp for them to lvl up (yes initially it used to be way more than it is now)
i didnt look at it as grind... i looked at it as an alternativ way to lvl up additional jobs to 80. Probably wouldnt have done it if all of my jobs were already at 80.
