For another, this game has a history of promises that aren't delivered on, along with a tradition of players who keep trying to push the time for others to complain to later and later dates with newer and newer goalposts, usually because they, themselves, like what's happening, want to (blindly) whiteknight for ol' sensitive Squeen, or even just don't necessarily care about what's going on and just don't want to feel like they should care one way or the other and would rather just not see it at all.

The character creator is really subpar compared to everything FFXIV has to offer- I think it was intended to be updated at some point, but even the thousands of requests for updates in the forums & on Reddit- FFXIV Devs have never really acknowledged anyone wanting improvements with character creator. Or, they tell the community "It's too hard" I'm guessing all of the FFXIV profits goes to SE's single title games with nothing left over to give the waning parts of it's MMO, FFXIV the much needed updates.
The truth seems to be: if the Japanese player community isn't requesting it, you won't see it.
So, if abunch of the Japanese playerbase have infact made requests for Viera & Hrothgar updates as well as an updated character creator, then "please look forward to it"
The current Character Creator is a reflection of what FFXIV started as- a lackluster mess in need of alot of TLC
This may be me, but I prefer the Character Creator in WoW compared to FFXIV- but the upside to FFXIV, you can use mods to get the updates people desperately beg for. Then Yoshi P asks players not to mod the game since it can be misleading (IMO: then update FFXIV character creator & people wouldn't feel the need to fix & improve what XIV devs wont? lol)

The other races don't need to be fixed. It would just be nice if they had some touch ups. Viera were promised new racial-unique hair nearly two years ago, and hrothgar new heads, neither have gotten what they were promised. While it would be nice if some of the other races got some updates, it shouldn't continue to be at the expense of viera/hrothgar.
