On the flip side, non sprinting monk animation looks extremely derpy.
I would take the NIN edge run over it, and I'm no fan of that either.

I can't wait for them to rework MNK like how they did MCH. They can start by adding more classic FF MNK style moves (like how they gave MCH classic MCH moves like Dril/AA/Bioblaster). Meteo Drive, Dolphin Kick, Phantom Rush, Rising Phoenix, Aura Blast, Somersault, Raging Fists, Asuran Fists, Victory Smite, etc...
Speaking for myself, I don't think the job needs flashy animations for its moves. What we have now is fine. I don't want/need big particle effects making it harder to see the boss's hit ring.
Also I'll say I care a lot more about how the job plays than how pretty/flashy it looks to play. So whatever they're going to do with the rework in 5.4 is much more important than how it looks using the skills one we get there.
MCH rework wasn’t a rework. Removing the ammo system and making its 3 key mechanics far from eachother and dumming down the rotation and wildfire execution was a poor move. Whatever happens to MNK, I hope it doesn’t get trivialized like MCH, as MNK has no stupid robot to distract the masses of how boring and clunky it is
