For The Love Of God Please Add Skip Cut Scene To The Story Dungeons

This first page is perfect. But as much as I dread getting Castrum on MSQ roulette, I do honestly queue for Praetorium in mind and the ability to spend Gaius' first speech time to pick out music for the run and Nero's speech to do literally anything else from making food to fixing up my house.

Pretty sure they confirmed in the last Live Letter that they currently have no plans to touch the MSQ dungeons.

Its also lots of gil and practically guaranteed a level of exp for 45min-1hr work. And at lv50+ I think thats cool.

Moral of the story: Don't queue for MSQ roulette if cutscenes annoy you. Do other things with your time instead.

They're the main reason I dread doing mentor roulette; even moreso then EX trials because they're so easy at this point that there's nothing to even really teach people, plus you don't get any bonuses if you aren't using the MSQ roulette specifically.

I'm hoping the 8 man solo fight from the latest relic quest is a sign they will make these 2 dungeons solo instances eventually.

Not sure if they confirmed that, can't recall, most all I remember MSQ wise is the 13% quest cut and the exp changes.

The alternative was skip and leaving the new players for dead confused and worthless

I don’t mind it but when it’s a party full of lv 80 players I’d like to skip please! Maybe a vote to skip? Since some players skip the story anyways

As has been said, running your highest level available dungeon (except for 50/60/70 dungeons) twice back to back, will get you roughly the same amount of EXP in the same time.
The only real bonus is the tomes.

If you don't like the roulette, just don't do it.

Look the thing is that the bonuses are incentives to run MSQ roulette. the EXP was increased to compensate for the cutscenes but they are meant to be the EXP equivalent of Afflatus Misery. You get a good chunk of EXP from it, but you could prolly get more from running a dungeon 3 times in the same time (to explain the metaphor Misery does a lot of damage but you can casts 4 Glares in the time it takes to proc and use it). Remove the unskippable cutscenes and you have to remove the bonus EXP as well, lest we repeat what lead to the scenes being unskippable in the first place (jerks,and tired people rushing though the dungeon at the expense of people wanting to experience the story making the battles and the scenes nigh mutually exclusive, as happened to me the first time I did Prae and what I occasionally, perhaps inevitably forced on others back when the scenes could be skipped), granted that would had likely happened anyway (Tomes, remember?) but the hypothetically disproportionate exp in this case would further insentience rushing it.

Another wrinkle is this. A guy on reddit complained that that the endgame of ARR broke the story becuase of being overgeared rendering the fight a faceroll, talking about the Cape Westwind instance. And my aforementioned first experience with Prae? thatw as during 2.2 back when LoTA was the only Alliance raid and the highest people can go was i90. Nothing bar a min ILevel sync would have a snowball's chance int he seven hells of ensuring that you actually need 8 players to destroy these instances and by extension reward the patience to wait for the scenes to end.

No thanks, i really like the XP and tomes given by those 2 dungeons, and it's roulette (and the whole reason those rewards are like this IS because you cannot skip cutscenes). Now, the only way skipping should be a thing is if ALL of the party members already played that dungeon. And even then, there's always the assh*le player(s) who may leave in the very moment they see the first timer bonus notification. Or maybe just vote kick the sprout(s) to go faster.


So... yeah, if you don't like it, just don't play it; simple. you aren't forced to run those dungeons or it's roulette, and you know full well what you're getting into when choosing them
