Hmm as Shadowbringers seems to embrace a little body horror, maybe once you defeat it there's a second part, this could be a Junji Ito collaboration for a horrific phase transition into a creature of absolute horror. Think the Garfield horror memes with a little gashunk. With a twist if you die you cannot be rezzed to instill a little more of that urgency to not die, no healers or rez mage can save you.

My party can't get past part of Fat Cat EX. When it eats all of the kibble and gets super saiyan, how do we prevent the instant death mechanics?

They could totally have his ultimate phase have a bunch of creatures carrying food to him and we have to dps them down to prevent him from eating. The more it eats, the bigger it gets and boom Fatpocolypse! :P
