Au Ra scale options?

Honestly at first I thought u were trolling...like wth, FFXIV has one of the simpler customization options out there that change MINIMAL stuff, I'm outraged tbh ppl would say stuff like that...like why...maybe it would intimidate a 10 year old but..? Who the hell goes 'no I have too many options for my character, I don't want to play this anymore'

Extra customization options on this game would just be more presets though.. Maybe the elusive Warrior of Darkness facial hair (probably not).

I don't think more customisation in this particular game would be intimidating to anyone. o.O

I would say that technically there is a way to have different horn colours, as the colour of the horns changes depending on your skin colour. Darker skin means your horns will be darker. It's probably the most noticeable on Raen though

I'm too happy with the way my character looks to fantasia just to get a slightly darker scale tone (however if the scale colour was separate that would be a different matter... would prefer it on aesthetician though). Though the issue with my scales being blue rather than black has made me wonder if I should just go Raen... I don't think I could get the same look going though.

All I want is for horns to not be attacahed to the face anymore....tired of enjoying a face but not the horns and the other way around >.<

I'm curious. Are there any customization heavy MMOs that can support having several dozen people in the same place without noticeable consequences?

In PSO2 there were significant load-in times for character models just with a few dozen players in the lobby areas so I'm honestly doubtful of how much customization XIV could handle before it starts effecting things negatively.

Granted, just having more scale/horn options would be a far cry from everything that game offers, but considering how dicey the server code can be as is...

In Aion for example you can costumoize literally anything and I never had problems there.
Most MMOs have more CC customization than this, too.

They should actually work on giving Au Ra scales in a way that doesn't look incredibly... Fake? Like the facial scales are OK (although given they can be added and removed by a hairdresser of all characters, does lend some weight to the idea that they're effectively stick-ons rather than real scales), but the body ones I find to just be silly... It's like you peeled strips of skin off a lizard and just glued them onto a Hyur... Granted, my biological experience with human/lizard hybrids is somewhat lacking, but I cannot imagine why Au Ra developed such sporadic patches of scales like they have... Some of the concept art for the race, where there extremities were far more scaled and bestial looked really great, to instead have what looks like someone just slapped a streak of bacon on your arm and painted it blue? So odd... Guess they needed to keep the race "kawaii" for waifu bait... The whole scaled aspect of the race just looks like they can be peeled right off though...

More customization options, as always, is a great idea. Having the option to set how scaled an Au Ras arms are, for example, would be great. Being able to adjust the hue of the scales, rather than the colour (since the colour has lore tied to it) would be great. Honestly, I'll just say what I always say when character customization comes up; I'd rather have had new options for all existing races to expand character creation options, than had new races completely. More options for Au Ra, Miqote, Lalafell, etc benefits every player. Adding Viera benefits only people who switch to Viera, and they were perfectly happy on other races prior to their addition. (and doesn't even benefit them given how unhappy many seem with the final product)
