My latency is good enough most of the time and it's about 50/50 that I'll get the seal using a card on the first global on a test dummy. The whole "in combat" thing is so finicky anyway, and that's why all recommended AST openers put the first card in the second offensive global, because we rely too much on that first seal, and having to fish/play again on the fly completely obliterates any opener--optimized or no.
I find the information in this video to be extremely helpful for AST opener https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWQ_TnJqqcw It has served me well and I recommend it to any AST player. This rotation gets Divination out ASAP but also doesn't leave that first seal to chance.
