unpopular opinion for sure, but, given how FFXIV is story-driven, i do not really want a long term story beyond the Hydalyn/Zodiark arc as it stands already. Murmurs say we are 80ish% through the story or on pace to be following the conclusion of 5.0. That means potentially 6.x and 7.x would be more or less the end of the game. That being said anyways, I wouldn't want another decade of XIV that ends up giving less by trying to give more (what I mean is by muddling the lore, or stretching ideas to satisfy the demand that may or may not be there at the time of potential release and souring its audience similar to how long franchises/series/mmos tend to do).
We are told frequently that there is great difficulty in adding x y and z whenever the requests become particularly pressing. Further, people frequently complain about lack of content in the end game (and when there was, everyone complained about it in the form that existed as diadem and Eurika. And oh man, now everyone complains that they can't do Eurika, crazy, but then again, no surprise all the same. I'm sure that this complaint will follow whatever will replace Eurika as well).
I'd rather XIV end in good tidings and memory than dwindle and fade slowly like a flag left to the elements.
As far as the next FF mmo? I wouldn't know. I very much like FFXIV, and don't necessarily want something new then what I already have now, but if I were to guesstimate, it would be released 5-7 years after the final story chapter of XIV

Considering Yoshida's own words about how next FF MMO could look, there is no even guarantee it will be an MMO in a way how FF14/WoW/etc works. It can be FF MOBA game with its own story and character creator for example, or something else. So I don't really get any hopes about next online FF until the moment when they will actually announce it. Can happen in 2 years, can happen in 10, who knows.

I don't see one coming in the near future. Square Enix is making good money in the current situation FFXIV is in now. Honestly they just need to keep working and adding on to this and they'll be in good shape for a long awhile.

Final Fantasy XVI is most likely going to be a single player game. Yoshi-P mentioned in an interview that there are currently no plans for another Final Fantasy MMO especially since Final Fantasy XIV is doing really well. In that same interview, he also mentioned wanting Final Fantasy XVI to be a straightforward fantasy with a lot less machinery. Meanwhile, Yoshi-P also opened up recruitment for a next generation title.
From what I recall, Luminous Productions, the team behind Final Fantasy XV is currently working on a completely new IP while the division that was in charge of the other single player Final Fantasy games are currently on Final Fantasy VII Remake so this kind of singles out Yoshi-P being the one in charge of the next Final Fantasy unless there's another team we don't know of.
My guess is that the next MMO is going to be Final Fantasy XVIII around 2027. MMOs take a very long time to create and I believe making one would take even longer than two or even three single player Final Fantasy games combined unless the game goes into development hell like Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Final Fantasy XIV is currently very successful and it's hard to predict when they do decide it's time to make a new MMO since the game is still on the rise with no sign of decline, unlike World of Warcraft which continued to rise until the end of Wrath of the Lich King but now continues its decline since the middle of Cataclysm with no end in sight. It's all part of the product's life cycle.
TLDR: Yoshi-P stated that there won't be a new MMO while Final Fantasy XIV is successful. Yoshi-P could also be working on the next single player Final Fantasy game. Final Fantasy XIV is nowhere close to the end of its product life cycle since the game is still on the rise.
