Im guessing (hoping) you'll be able to download it from the site and not the patcher, so you can still play and go on with your life while it downloads....

I sure hope so... Well the Game itself will be a semi quick installation, its the Download part.. that's going to be the killer..

I'll just start it ( hopefully in the AM if they have it up by then) Go away from my computer for a few hours come back and check its status, or if I have work that day it will be even better =). Then come back and play 2.0's Awesomeness! :D

Works for me, I get off school at 11pm PDT :P

2.0 won't be a patch, it has a completely new graphics engine, new area's, new UI, that will be a completely new install.

Yep, You are right I wasn't clearly thinking when I wrote my first post.. Stupid Head cold >.<

^ This. With a new graphics engine, it will need a new client. Aka, will probably need to uninstall FFXIV completely, and then install Version 2.0

Now to wait for the forced character, linkshell and retainer name /rage threads and the "I can't set a retainer in wards cause they are full" /rage threads.

I wonder if the 2.0 "patch" will just have us uninstall the game and re-install it via patch. If that's the case, I can just imagine that 5 hours download.

lol yep :P, but with my Sucky DSL 350KB/sec at max connection I'll be there till the next day, not 5 hours :P
