Melee Gear Design Contest Winner - Finally in 5.1?

I'd forgotten about these and I'm still disappointed with what they picked.

That regal tunic of aiming had all my votes. I'm so sad ☹️

All can say for top pick eww. Metal Gear Solid has no place in final fantasy. Not cute design at all. Might be ok for guy characters.

Not every design has to be cute, and it is not a bad design just because it is not cute. It'll fit in just fine.

A lot of people are sad it doesn't have ruffles, bows and ribbons and is pink by default and looks better on females. Tragic.

Well, we have Allagan gear, so...that's pretty futuristic/robotic. And you know, Alexander. And Ironworks. And the Garleans. And a flying car from another world. But Metal Gear Solid-esque items totally don't have a place in FF. Nope, not at all.

nah. Also not all female characters need cute designs. Femroe for the win

Neither aesthetic of the DPS winners are to my liking, but the melee one at least seems like it will be unlike anything we have in terms of gear design.

Not to discredit to the ranged DPS winner, it's a gorgeous design, I just feel we have gear that resembles this already. I imagine SE will use the Riviera doublet as a base for this concept in-game and the hat seems similar to the Ironworks cap of gathering. Seems like there were far more original designs that could have won. Will be neat to see what healers and tanks will get from these sets, at least.

Eh I'm not a huge fan of it, but I can see why it won. Simple and sleek design and it can easily be fitted to look like some form of Allagan armor or something, so it would fit with being a tomestone set.

The other submissions were a lot more visually interesting and appealing though, I hope they keep them on record as possible sets to make in the future.

They really did pick the most boring designs possible I feel like. Super sad.
