If you are not into the "mmmos begins at lvl max where you have to farm raids for better stuff, so i have to rush rush rush to be there as soon as possible" mindset, it can take a very long time to reach 70. In fact when i did begin the game it tooks me 4 months to reach 60 (that was the max level then), and i sure dont play two hours per day only. You might have lose track of it if you are only doing daily expert roulettes, but FF14 is a game with a huge choice of differents things to do. A new player has whole years of content to discover, you dont catch up to that in a few weeks.
I still remember the first player i added to my friend list, who was in the "rush to reach the end game raids" crowd. While i was cutting wood with my botanist, going back to level 1 to try another fighting job, and doing another side contents not caring that much about the MSQ, he was awfully quick to reach 60. And did leave the game right away, not even doing the raids he was wanting to do. Which didn't surprise me when he was forcing himself so much to go so quickly through quests he didn't like. Since then the first advice i do give a new player is usually to not burn themselves out on the MSQ, and to take a break doing something else if it becomes tiring doing it.
So yes, think a bit before following blindly what the OP is saying XD
