More content for solo players?

So trying to get back on point and sorry for the multiple posts....

Wouldnt you all like to do something more interesting for solo content?
I LIKED doing company leves but standing in teh same place for 15 minutes protecting a single npc just sint..fun...specially when the reward is barely 130 seals tops...

I really want to do something meaningful and interesting, let me call my companion and help it level up to become more useful..let me defend my city against invasions from monsters.

Im NOT asking for them to make all party content soloable, Im asking for solo content, stuff you could do to have FUN when you log in and you dont feel like finding a party to spend your time.

I like to go shopping.
Or log trees by myself.
But I suppose I could be untypical in this sense ^^;;

But perhaps the idea of Solo-BCNM might be interesting? Not too long to farm up the equivalent of seals, that lets you go into a challenging dungeon that may take a while to master.

I think that would be a fun idea. It's been a while since I've played Aion, but I understand they have a solo dungeon now?

Obviously, you can't expect raid-quality loot, but still some lesser rewards and a good challenge would be entertaining.

I agree with you two...spend seals to ge tinto a dungeon that rewards seals would be fun...hell I would be doing that all day!

Or gimme something to spend and win money on...chocobo race bets! a casino! something! XD

Reading some of the nay-saying to solo content in this thread kind of makes me want to throw up a little.

Party play is extremely rewarding and makes your MMO experience much more fun in the company of other people. That said, some people will hop on with only a short amount of time to play that cannot possibly encompass finding a party or doing what said party was created to do within the amount of time that player has.

I do not believe that party content should be soloable, but separate content should exist that can be done solo (and is actually enjoyable and rewarding in some way, unlike most Leves).

The argument that someone who doesn't have time for party play shouldn't be playing an MMO is also stupid and I'm sure SE holds their breath every time someone on these forums makes a comment like that that could essentially cost them a paying customer (yes that person's opinion is worth just as much to SE as yours). Also acting like someone who wants to solo is antisocial or doesn't get along with people is completely asinine; I get along fine with most everyone and love party play, but had many instances in MMOs with solo play where I solo'd leveling etc to go at my own pace and not hold anyone back if I felt like afking every 15 minutes.

Solo content needs to exist along side party content to give people things to do when they just want to be on their own clock or don't have time to gather a group. Dungeons can take up to an hour for one run, and that's excluding the time it takes to form a group or do multiple runs, wait after a win or loss, repair, etc.

But for the people being complete sour-pusses towards those who want something to solo... get over yourselves, seriously.

Also,

Some solo content is a good way to practice your skills.

As an ex-RDM (and RDM in training) I enjoy finding solo challenges to see if I can sharpen my skills. Which in turn help me when I am in a party.

I agree with OP. I like solo content that involves fighting to defend a castle/fort or attacking an enemy stronghold, similar like Campaign and Besiege. Content like that does not require you to party up but everyone participating in the event have the same goal.

I'll do that all day instead of waiting for friends to log on, and hoping someone will join your party because when I log on I like to get up and go. Force grouping shouldn't be the only way to do things.

Just one thing: Hamlet Defense is not gonna be solo friendly, based on what we know.

I think I missed your point like most of the rest of these people until I read this. I dont think the OP has anything against party content as some suggest, just wants the option to do something casual without having to get anyone to come along(lvling companion and campaign battle are perfect examples). I think stuff like this will be added, but now was the time to add party content, we needed things to help each other with.
