I'm curious as different area's have different customer service hubs and pools, what country are you playing from? You of course have no obligation to answer information about yourself on a public forum but purely for curiositys sake.

Few rules for being on twitch
1. Only clicks links approved by the streamer or their mods
2. Do not click any link or believe any offer involving FF14 without first veriftying it on the main website or launcher.
3. Don't believe whispers offering deals and links.
Would suggest getting a security token pyshical or the security app if you have a phone that can support the app. Here is the link for the official FF14 twitch page. https://www.twitch.tv/finalfantasyxiv you can also find it in the launcher in the post about fake links.
yes, in fact I feel zero motivation to play the game anymore... this whole thing has taken its toll on me
but at the same time I feel bad about my group as they would be left without a healer... specially after they offered to spend the weekend farming stuff with me so I could at least be raid ready... sigh
This only shows how SE japan is disconnected from Non-JP community.
For real.
I feel bad, that's a lot of time to lose and lends a pretty big feeling that they "just don't care/respect me". I understand there is probably a lot of red tape and rigid structures in place that mean some people you talk to might really want to help, that the company unintentionally handcuffed itself, and it's not some sort of heartless corporate structure or whatever. As I want to be clear I'm not trying to paint SE evil, but when I imagine myself in the situation I imagine a feeling of "they don't care about me" a feeling of "wow- they couldn't get it done on time and when they did do it finally they did it for maximum destruction, they don't care it destroyed my experience".
That said I would really suggest perhaps giving this thread time to ferment, perhaps one of our CM will see it and be able to pass it on sincerely (if this is a real event). If you're really blessed you might even get a response/a solution presented. If this issue is truly as people say, truly like 3 months work demolished, I think Yoshida would really care about this. One thing clear is Yoshida really wants to leave people's work alone and let them have what they earned. I remember when there were a few issues SE caused that made some people talk about "maybe we should roll back the servers", Yoshida was like "it's our fault I'm not going to disrespect player's work like that, no roll backs". I don't mean to single him out either because I'm sure some others would care too.
So I'd give it a little bit of time especially if you have some sub time before subscription gets pulled again, before deciding to stop playing at least. If nothing comes of it at all and you've been waiting a while.. /shrug.. Sorry :(. At least your friends are really nice to help you get back on your feet if you so choose. I wouldn't judge you if you decided not to though. I just think if someone high enough knew about this they might at least attempt to take action, at least I think that... I would at least attempt to fix it (I'm obviously not in a position of power lol).
Of course I don't mean to suggest there is a snap your fingers solution so I'm not sure how long a turn around would be if they could even help you specifically. Nor do I mean to trivialize how easy/hard it would be to implement new protical and systems to prevent and fix this sort of issue for players. But if this described issue is true then.. It's concerning.
By the way I'm sorry I keep saying "if true" it's just that technically we only have part of the story(/perspective) and I've learned that can be a major issue. So it's my only way to say I don't hold it against SE if you held something out on us, but that if we have accurate info then "x" is my response. ;)
Thank you for your words. Empathy is a rare thing nowadays.
I understand and as you can see from previous posts, there is quite a bit of skepticism here and I am not disputing any of it, we all know how the internet is.
I guess I can try to clarify that my purpose with this thread is NOT:
- To get items I never had
- To get gil I never had
- To get free subscription time
- I don't even want back the gil lost due to my own stupidity that led to this whole situation in the first place (talking about the twitch link).
My purpose here is solely:
- To get visibility on a process that needs urgent improvement and eliminate the risk of other people falling into the same situation in the future
- Possibly get enough attention so that someone with decision power might try to do something about it and get my inventory back to the way it was before the rollback. I also understand that the help desk analysts have limited reach within such a big company.
Hopefuly this shows that I do not mean to get any personal gain, nor am I trying to take advantage of anything.
I just want back what I achieved with my own efforts and were taken away by circumstances and a poorly designed process.
No offense, but they did warn you that your progress would be lost. If after 10 days you didn't hear back from them, you should have contacted them again, preferably by phone or chat.
They are telling you the truth when they say it can't be fixed. It really can't. After they do a rollback, they can't recover the previous character data. It's kinda like formatting a hard drive.
If it really has been 3 months, if anything that is where SE's service failed in that it took way too long.
Why did you file a claim for hacked account anyway?
Wow that would have been an unsubscribe from me if I was in your shoes OP.
