Yes, the gap to BLM is too large, but don't call for a removal of Verraise because the "real supposed" size of the gap is hard to determine. If you are only interested in DPS and savage clears, you have lots of options available. So i'd rather have red mage be subpar in savage than having them remove verraise.

Again, i don't think every job has to perform the same in every type of content. There are enough jobs for some of them to be better at certain type of content and worse at others.

believe it or not SMN and, 2 Healers can also salvage a run though not as efficiently as a RDM. RDM isn’t the ONLY job that can salvage runs. There have been runs salvaged without a RDM. This is a big over-exaggeration. Thing is, RDM not being able to clear the early prog dps checks in the higher fights without ridiculous amounts of min maxing because nobody in the party can afford to die and you still need to put out damage that’s clearly above your weight class isn’t good design (would love to see a week 1 Titan kill with a RDM and no DRG, MNK, or BLM). Seriously, week 1 Titan when nobody is allowed to die felt horrible on RDM. RDM also has this stigma of being repped out for SMN and now BLM once you’re ready to clear which is stupid as it's the prog job getting swapped out before crossing the finish line because it's underperforming that much in rdps contribution.

I’m calling for the removal of the Verraise because I’ve been playing this job for 2 years now and only once did they get it right, the last even numbered patch of SB and immediately messed it up the first chance they got to do something interesting with RDM. What RDM got was lower dps than pretty much everyone else, the same tired rotation, and no new utility to really help us feel like we were in line with DNC and NIN. Verraise needs to go, you can feel however you want about it as it’s your right to but they’ve shown that they don’t know how to balance the skill and seem to view it as some sort of “One size fits all raid utility”

We should just let it go, RDMs want more rdps because we’re a dps. raising isn’t even the responsibility of a dps and it never was for SMN, why does it have to be at the forefront of RDM's viability. I’m sure there are some RDM that are excited for people to die with the hopes of satisfy his hero complex but, I think the large majority want contribute to our team’s success beyond picking up corpse off the floor.

I guess, you are only running this content as premade? I cannot understand that statement otherwise... there are many death in casual content.

Just started Shadowbringers RDM the other day and got to level 72, already bored of it.

The creation of an aoe rotation piqued my interest a little bit at first.

I'm not too bothered about the damage and utility as I don't currently take part in content where it matters but I would say I'd support those who do, they know better than me.

What bothers me, is when a job feels so... underwhelming, boring, dull. This is how I feel about RDM so far. I'm the player who mains BLM but much prefers to play SMN because I feel much more engaged with my skillset.

Don't get me wrong, I will level RDM to 80 but will probably be that class I "level but will not play"

I switched back to SMN.

RDM is just in a really shitty place right now.

The embolden buff doesn't quite hold a candle to Devotion given its physical dps restrictions and lets be real, you can't take advantage of veraise in Eden Savage this early on due to enrage timers.

Simply put, the DPS gap doesn't warrant having a RDM in the caster slot atm.

Red Mage is a damage dealer in this game and making it bad in it's role so that it can do another role's job... I just have to wonder what the developers really want with this job."

Are you one of the ppl telling healers to play dps if they wanna do damage?
I main SCH and RDM to have some variety and i especially like the simplicity of RDM and i´m surely not the only one.
RDM didn´t change much for Shb and thats good. If someone is getting too bored of its playstyle he can just switch jobs; thats really easy in FF14.
But instead, they are asking for the job to be changed how they want it.

How do i want to play RDM like a healer, just because i think veraise is a good spell to have in casual content?
I like high dmg numbers and i also think RDM could use some potency increases.
What i don´t want is the job i like being changed, just because its not as viable right now in savage...

Nobody loves veraise spam. Thats just a stupid exaggeration of you to discredit everyone speaking positively about veraise.
