GNB sounds REALLY BAD now...

Yeah, SAM sounds are pretty swipey. They're all I can here if there's one around, but apparently the clean slicing of the GNB was "too loud :c"?

Funny how there was like one thread asking to make it different, and now that they have there's been like 6 in under 24 hours asking it to be changed back. That alone speaks for how many people did or did not want it. Furthermore, I voiced my opinion against it, as seen in the quote below. Based on how you and others have approached this, am I allowed to have the old SFX back, since I did oppose this change?

Yeah, I didn't know it was a big enough issue that they saw the need to change it. After playing with GNB for a bit I can definitely notice the difference, but I guess I'm fairly passive. It doesn't bother me much. It's just different.

One have to be carefull what they wish for.
The definition of "improvement" might look different by those who will make the changes.
To some it might've seemed pretty obvious how it should've been done. But nothing is of certainty when it comes to peoples point of view.

Personally I didn't like the old sounds. They sounded too light and too clean to be from a more heavy blade, due to the built in gun.
But the sounds right now doesn't have the impact of a blade. It sounds more like a club. *thonk*
So if they perhaps could reverse it a bit and make it sound more like a heavy impact slicing and add some clicks of the gun mechanics vibrating during the hit, I think it would be better.

Actually I disagree, the old slashing sound was VERY ear bleeding. I'm not joking, it was actually hurting my ears.

While i agree that the new sounds lacks a slashy feeling and can still be reworked, i find them way better than the old ones. When i did try gunbreaker at the expansion launch i was like "uh, is there a bug with the sound effects ? It doesn't feel like i am hitting something at all, it is so underwhelming". In fact this was the one reason why i did quickly decide to go with DRK instead. Now maybe i can try to level my gunbreaker a bit.

the default sword slash sounds horrible, i cant describe it really well. Like hardened plastic bludgeoning something?

I like the old sounds way better.. The new sounds are like a hammer or club instead of a blade. I don't like them at all.

The Gnashing Fang combo actually sounds all right. The Keen Edge combo sounds really really bad.

I loved the original sounds. I had no idea people were complaining about them. Was this what they were asking them to be changed to?

It's one thing to listen to feedback, that's great on principle, but... please SE, there has to be some kind of sanity check along the way. If a piece of feedback is... whatever led to this, there is no harm in ignoring it <3

Considering I didn't even know this was asked for, no - my silence was not approval. As for the sounds, I barely hear it. The blade does seem a bit blunter, now.
