Or do as Aion did. A cosmetic in game store, bought with gold not cash shop, lets you pick spray tans and eye drops along with hair dye. The colors aren't from the full color wheel, so if you want specifics, you bought the cash shop item.
I know very well how taxing it is to adjust anatomy. Prime example would be Michael Jackson, whom is a testament to that fact that changing your skin color just isn't feasible, lest you are white and seek too look like a raisin. And changing your height requires that your legs gets repeatedly broken and held apart wait for it to regrow, only to repeat the process again until desired height.
The great thing is that this is a game, it is not real life which leaves us open to some "suspension of disbelief" in regards to certain physical rules. Not to mention that there are plenty of creatures in the game that is transformed into something that is completely different than what they originally were, with the help of magic, permanently.
Changing skin color or height could simply be written of as some minor transformative magic's with a nigh permanent effect.
I knew Michael Jackson was going to be brought into this. I just knew it. Regardless, I disagree with your point and things should stay as is. The only "minor adjustments" that should be made is the ability for Hrothgar to choose their hairstyle regardless of face, and viera should have access to more old hairstyles. That's my view.
I've used three fantasias in my five-ish years playing the game. All three of them were to change eye color.
I feel like this should be the only extra thing the aesthetician should be able to change rather than having to pay for a fantasia for it.
The only option I'd like to see the Aesthetician get would be contacts. And maybe one day we'll get unique contacts from holiday events like star pupils or goat eyes.
Height, skin colour, and voice don't make much sense to me even when you take into consideration that he can make your hair grow. I'm fine with those being fantasia options.
I support fantasia to become like this. The first time I used one was to change the character's voice, because even though it sounded deep and nice in the CC, in actual combat he sounds like frikin Roger from American Dad (male Roe voice #4, if anyone curious). Eventually I gave up of hearing the ~myaaaaah~ and chugged it down. Even now as a Hroth I'm hesitating if I want to buy another one just to change skin tone - not color, tone...because the one I chose don't quite match the werewolf feet dye options.
It feels like if the change is minor it's not worth to fantasia over it, but at the same time it's there....watching, constantly reminding you of that mistake /grovel
Eye colour, feels legit to stay in Aesthetician, 'tho.
Changes to the Aesthetician have already been brought up plenty, going back years, and SE still hasn't made any changes to it.
It seems like they're committed to having the aesthetician only be able to change things that aren't a permanent part of your character.
Obviously immersion is very important to them in a game where you can dress up in mascot costumes and ride around on the entire goddamned Gold Saucer.
So you want a Character Creation but limited to current race?
I think the limitations are OK.
