Problems with DX11

I'm having the same directx crashes as well. I just recently came back to FF14 & my game seems to be crashing a lot yesterday for some weird reason. I'm not sure what's going on tbh & I've already tried various troubleshooting steps before making this post. Could someone please help me? Thank you. I'll attach a screenshot of the last known error I got when my game crashed. If you need any more information to help assist me better then please ask.

I don't think we can say that they aren't doing anything about it... they just aren't updating us one what's going on on their end. There are too many people with this issue for them to be idle about it, but their communication on the matter could be much better.

I'd appreciate even the smallest of statements that Square is aware of the issue and is actively looking into it. The fact that it didn't appear on the list of 'known issues' within the 5.01 patch notes concerns me greatly.

I've been getting these crashes a lot more since 5.01, too.

The only trend I've noticed is that they seem more prone to occurring while abilities are being used, as I've crashed shortly after using Plunge on DRk and also immediately after using Eruption with BLU in a city.

Bumping as I am still having this issue...After trying every solution listed here and online and having no other issues in other things on my computer I really want to say this is an issue on SE's end with NVdia cards....

Any sort of update would be great, Savage is 1 week away.....

Some people are saying that re-installing the game has fixed it, so there may have been something in the patches that caused this. I, too, have tried everything I have found on the forums and Reddit and nothing has worked. It's actually gotten worse over the past few days. I have resorted to just using DX9 for now, which says it is unsupported, but the game at least functions with it. It's definitely annoying.

I have never gotten this problem since the game first launched even before ARR.
Maybe some info is of use:
im running latest application, windows & nvidia drivers
No overlays
running DX11
highest graphics with reshade @ 1440P with G-sync 144hz
GTX1080ti - 7700K - IX Formula - 32Gb corsair platinum ram with xmp running
Game is installed on a NVMe SSD along with my OS on a seperate NVMe.
Main programs i have visibly open on one of my 5 screens are:
Chrome
VLC
steam friends
task manager
discord
messenger chrome add-in application
all in all im running 293 processes and 4.09K threads

I mean to really start to narrow it down it would be great if the ones that have the problem did another Windows install (a new partition) and updated their drivers to the latest for both graphics and windows. If it crashes then, then it probably is a problem with the combination of the components (or their settings in bios) in the pc or outside of pc (like usb devices plugged in to pc) otherwise if it doesn't crash you can start to install the programs one by one until the game crashes or when you have all your application installed as you have on the main windows install. Sure it can also be a combination of both, that some programs maybe reacts badly with some components in certain circumstances too. If possible i think this way will narrow it down a lot but it requires someone willing too along with spare time.

I never had this problem prior to Shadowbringers and I've been playing since 1.0. All of a sudden I get DirectX crashes and it's at seemingly random times. I've had it flying to FATES, during dungeons, during trials, simply running through cities, etc.

I've always played DX11 overclocked and had no trouble. I tried playing at lower clock speed and got no difference. Now all of a sudden it doesn't want to work. Nothing has changed on my end.

As a last resort, I deleted FFXIV from my PC and I'm currently re-installing it. It's a widespread issue if you look at this thread or even just hop over to the Technical Issues part of the forum. I'm doubtful that it's coincidentally an issue with everyone's PC or setup rather than something related to a game file or recent patches.
