I did an edit in my post saying that more hair was there.

Viera will likely get access to existing cross race hairstyles at launch. Hrothgar on the other hand probably won't. There's not even a "Hairstyle" option for them. Either for technical or lore reasons, their "hairstyle" is the fur pattern which has a range of colors and highlights attached to it. Maybe they'll add more fur patterns in the future though since that looks like what hairstyles were traded off for.
I’m hoping that at the very least, we’ll be able to use Mog Station hairstyles.
Considering the rush that they've been through with the new races, I'm sure that Viera will eventually get the rest of the hairstyles unlocked (similarly to the headgear). If not at launch, then shortly after.
Hrothgar on the other hand... I don't know how they're going to deal with them. I mean, we often get new haistyles, so what will happen with our furry friends? As has been said already, their haistyles are tied to the faces, so will they just get new fur patterns? Honestly, I have no idea about what they're going to do to not be unfair towards that race. Hopefully they'll mention something during the next live letter.
People enjoy freaking out before actually seeing the finished product. Like with the Hrothgar reveal. The trailer didn't do them justice at all but what we see now looks so much better than even then. I have faith that SE will have far more options upon release, but even if they don't I'll still change. The new races are perfect in aesthetic, in my opinion. :)
It's one thing to not see much choice in hairstyles. You can say it's simply a preview of an unfinished product, because that is possible. It's another thing altogether to see hairstyles tied to faces.
Au ra horns are tied to faces. If you want to change your horns you must also change your face, which means you need a fantasia. Hrothgar hair works the same way. Will we need a fantasia to change hrothgar hair? Does this also mean that we will be stuck with just those hairstyles? This isn't a case of freaking over nothing. This is a genuine concern given we know how au ra horns are treated, and how hairstyles have been treated up to now.
The fact that the Hrothgar hair is also specifically tied to the facial features (additional - specific - options for the hair) of each face tells me the hair is tied to each specific face.
Also, what would be the point of having two of each face, when the only variation is the hair?
Instead of a limited job we got limited hair. It's almost like full hair!
Absolutely not going Hrothgar because of the hair being tied to the face. May not go Viera either if they don't get the other hair styles I've collected over the years either. I don't remember Au'Ra having these problems either.
Yeah, like I've been saying I assume that Hrothgar's Racial hair is tied to their face and when you go to the Hair guy he unlocks the shared hair styles. Mainly because hair is something they put a lot of importance on ... be it as a reward for content like events or HoH or RL contest (Cloud hair) or something you pay for. So telling someone who convert to these races* that they can't use any of the styles they unlocked or won would be hella strange. Even more so seeing how the shared hair styles are known for not fitting every race well so an afro hiding ears isn't new.
Hope someone ask them about this at some point before the release. I'm rolling both regardless, but completely confused on what we're gonna get if they don't add them to these races. Like what ... go to the hair style guy and he just allows you to change your fur pattern and color for Hrothgar and let Viera only change between 8 hairs and their bangs styles? Would they give Hrothgar a ton of Patterns and more racial hairs for both to make up for this? Will Hrothgar be able to change faces with the hair guy?
*I say races because Viera are also limited to 8 hair styles with a unique alt version. At this point after the head gear stuff I feel like they're treated as a packaged deal ... if we assume more will come for Viera we should assume the same here.
