I love symmetry too and the Gunbreaker icon doesn't look that good, it's nothing to be upset though, it's just a small image in-game!...

Gunbreaker's icon is neat though I'm not entirely sure what they were going for. Not a deal breaker though.
Could just be a Thavnairian thing, since we don't know much about them culturally. It's featured prominently on their gear, so I'd think it has some significance.

Depends quite how blatantly they want to lean on FFVIII, I guess! (Not that they're being all that subtle with the collectors edition glamour, and being linked with the "lion race" is probably one big stealth reference.)
But also it might look a bit too similar to DRK, and they'd both be blue icons.
I mean, these symbols are fine.
The way we define the symbology of the Jobs is really a simple matter of familiarity tbh. A few of them are reasonable, like the Staff for WHM or the Harp for BRD. But I tend to confuse SAM's and NIN's because they're relatively similar. And what does Monk's even have to do with the class?
I think the dancer icon is really cute but Im partial to hearts.
Looks like a healer icon to me.
Move over Gunbreaker, cause this icon is a deal breaker. RAGE QUIT!!! Lol.
It seems no matter which alternative we think of we run into the, "looks like another icon" issue. I think it would be easier to digest if we just knew what it was supposed to be, officially.
Monks icon it their iconic weapon in the series, claws. Each icon does have a connection to the jobs they represent, people are just trying to find the connection the new ones have.
