Cobalt Haubergeon/Mythril Haubergeon Sets are Miss-matched

Cobalt isn't blue as other people pointed out.

Mythril was greenish in XI... ask the Dev why they made it blue in XIV.

Tho, the reason is probably as simple as because one is a fictional metal while the other is a real metal/element found in nature.

Yes, Yes, and more Yes. you are right. Cobalt is a silver colored metal, used to impart a beautiful blue in glass.

But just for the sake of it, I'm going to remind you that we play a game that is called Final Fantasy. This is a fictional game, and just as you pointed out mythril is a fictional element:

Now, the game developers could have just made both mythril AND cobalt the same color going by the inferred color of mythril and the real nature of cobalt - but where would be the fun in that? The fact is this is a fantasy world, in which the game developers have the freedom to do as they please. So all that rubish, as true as it may be, about cobalt being a grey colored element that only becomes blue in glass is pretty much irrelevant.

Obviously, the game developers had the idea in mind to mke mythril and cobalt distinctly different from one another by making one blue and the other silver:

Judging by these images, mythril is more of a bluish tint than cobalt - and I'm okay with that. It really doesn't matter which one gets to be the blue ranger or the white ranger, what matters is that there is a uniformity in color to the armor made by those elements. Either the Mythril Set should be entirely blue with hints of silver and the Cobalt Set should be entirely silver with hints of blue (and electrum?) or vice versa.

Then again, maybe we are making too big a deal out of this. But, as has been pointed out by others and Pandataru (lolname) the colors do not correspond at all to the graphics of the images.

One more thing: when will we get awesome colorful fractal crystal uber gears made out of Bismuth? :D

yes, the coloring of gear is a bit awkward sometimes. They probably wanted to make the distinction between the Cobalt pigments used to color glass in blue and the cobalt used to make metal. Also probably to avoid having two similarly colored items used to make gear that's close from each other in level. Mythril is used to make r42ish gear while cobalt is used to make r49ish gear. The funny thing is that Mythril ores are greenish but the ingots are blue.

The color of those pattens refers to the color of the felt in the shoe. Yes, there is or was (maybe still is?) "wood dye" so why arent we laquering these instead? I dont know why the rest of the shoes change color but hey. Y'all must not craft much or maybe havent crafted much in the old dated system. Or you're trying to get a rise out of someone! \0/

Actually, the brown ones dont make sense <_<. It looks the the cloth part on those is white! /boggle

Are you saying that the undyed Mahogany Patterns are made with blue dyed felt while the Blue Dyed Mahogany Patterns are made with White colored felt?

there isn't anymore, people wanted a simple universal dying system to save inventory space. I have no idea why the shoes turns White when we dye it to blue, more because the original/not dyed shoes was blue to start with.

Or they mixed up the icons. The original old/dated recipe for this item would have used an undyed cloth, while the blue version used a blue cloth. That's how the complicated old system worked sometimes to color gear like shoes, belt, and such.

Matsume, if you check out the green ones its pretty clear to see where the cloth element is. Can see on the little icon or just find them in-game. Come on, you're close to the floor. You should notice these things!
