These look different from other FFXI skills to me, and definitely involve instruments...

Yep. As for how songs will work until job weapons are implemented, I'm going to guess that the animation will be the same except you'll just have your bow. I wouldn't expect them to design an entirely different animation just for use until the weapons are put in.

I mean it won't use a system for hitting notes and such like in other games. You'll just trigger the skill and it'll probably be casted like a normal spell, only it'll be a song.
