Remove the Profanity Filter

Question for you. Is English not your first language? Are you typing on a flip phone by chance? It's very, very hard to read and understand your posts.

Calling anyone you don't know your healslave would be an INCREDIBLY rude and offensive thing to do out of the blue like that. If someone was just q'ing up into a dungeon and the rando tank puts a target on my head and calls me his healslave at the start of the run...I would be immediately PO'd and I am not a person who cares at all about "bad words" or obscene language in the least. I swear all the time in chat myself. I wouldn't report the dude, but hoo boy would my temperature rise a few ticks right there. If that is your default macro opener for every piece of content you run....you were inevitably going to get reported sooner or later.

I want to believe this is one of those cases where you don't quite understand English slang as much as perhaps you think you do and aren't aware how ridiculously offensive and demeaning you are being with that opening line, whether you think it is a joke or not. It has both racially and sexually offensive overtones to it that would not sit well with most people coming from a total stranger.

Wait... we're not healslaves? Have I been playing healers wrong for a decade and a half? Pretty sure the only job I was expected to always try and do was heal...

Why do you even have these macros? I understand the welcome part, but the rest... everyone has that information plainly available on their screen.

Interesting, I had not considered the server part. I don't personally care about that information, but I can see why someone might.

Topic is a bit silly.

I have different standards for what I feel is acceptable language among different groups of people. My BFF and I swear up a storm in our LS, and I'd never dream of turning on a profanity filter. That doesn't mean I think it's okay to be dropping F-bombs left and right in pugs and other chat channels.

As was stated on pg1, it's against TOS in the same manner as parsing. It's up to you to keep such rule-breaking in channels that won't take issue with it and seek to moderate you. For those of us who are capable of doing so, we have the option to turn the filter off, and no dev will take a suggestion to remove that option seriously.
