Final steps isnt bad if the team is doing mechanics(dodge aoes, kill adds in a smart order, stack for ahk). It could be sketchy when it was brand new, but these days youre more likely to see trouble from people who dont know what a stack marker is then from the heal-check itself.
The dps check in Final Steps is the add phase. Ala morn can hurt the only real healing check is Akh Morn which everyone but the main tank should stack for. It's not as scary as it sounds as almost any df group I get there's enough people who remember how to do it or have enough situational awareness not to come off as a complete idiot.
Just as a small update: Final Steps of Faith was ridiculously easy compared to Vault endboss. Shows what a decent party can do I guess or maybe it really is easier :D
Since Vault I only had trouble at first Library boss.
I always found it a gear and skill check for all. If one person doesn't do a skill correctly it can be disastrous.
