Some are asking why the first place letter won... speak to the NPC that it was wrote to and you may understand. He actually listened to what the NPC says and wrote it based on that. Including the NPC's words on how they love weaving into the letter on how he/she love the NPC. Very similar to a Go From First Line to Last Line Poem. I think thats why they chose it

I didn't expect to win, either. I probably did win because I included all of the lines that my beloved NPC says. I also used a play on Rumplestilskin and referenced Nymeia (my NPC also spins a wheel). It was also probably more of a love letter whereas a lot of letters were either limericks or novels. It wasn't as funny as others, but Square Enix knows quality over quantity, which is almost NEVER the case!
I'd like to thank all of the little people... Wapi, Gyo, Defu and the other lalafells... all of the S and M-sized Miqo'te... but this is about me- I'm so special. When my moogle plushy arrives, I'm going to imbue it with the power of my love and dissect it into 7 parts, scattering them across the globe. When brought together again, it was transform into the Wandering Odin and re-shape Eorzea into an entirely new world through the sheer strength of its' will! MWAHAHAHA! PRAISE ME!
