(Spoiler, Kinda) Gunblade job 'concern'

It's going to be a tank. Not just because the leaks say it is, but because that is Thancred, and without it being a tank class, then the Trust system pool of NPCs would not have a tank in its roster.
And we can't have that.

Pretty sure its going to be a tank. Remember the dungeon gear for alot of tank gear is all leather.

Also remember in 2.0 Thancred was a gladiator so dont forget that.

Ah, yeah. I did mean Squall from VIII. I just look up for XIV stuff so often that I habitually push the X, sorry. I didn't even play XIII so I cannot say anything bout that.

But in case of whether Squall was a tank or not...there is no such thing as a "tank" outside of MMO or at least tactical games. Just some more beafy characters. And Squall was one of the beefier in VIII (if not the most so).

It was used on every single normal attack and at least some of the limit breaks. How much more could it be exposed?!

So using the gun to enhance damage while being OT in a more warrior fashion... Why not, but its still not tank-like at all.

Note that I don't mind it being a tank or existing , I just find this job coming out of nowhere without any other reason to exist than appeal to fan of this kind of weapon. At least it exist in garlemald so why not after all.

Well this is ffxiv so I will try to be objective. As far as I remember, the first ever tease/character/hint of gunblade we saw was with Gaius van Baelsar. I think he was considered to be more of tank?! than dps.. seeing the teaser... at the moment my money is on TANK!!

Never seens the point of having a gun in a blade. Just take a shotgun and a shied for what it does. /shrug

There is no Leon in FF VIII the character's name is Squall Leonhart and a gunblade is a melee weapon and just because Squall, Cypher and Lightning haven't been tanks doesn't mean that tanks wouldn't use a gunblade.
Never seen the point of a gunblade? How about globe then? Its a fantasy game you know?

Yeah and despite it not being as long ago, Nero tol Scaeva was also using a Gunblade type weapon during the Omega story so I think that kinda cemented the idea that this kind of job was coming next expac.

How is this even a concern. NPCs can't glamour? Tanks mostly run around naked now-a-days anyways.
