TERA is not all that, my opinion is that it could be, but at the moment? Nope.
Remind you of another game? Im not generally a man of faith, betting on one game is enough for me.

Haha! You're very passionate! That's a good thing.
I respect what your LS has accomplished in FFXIV. You guys know your stuff. I also respect your XI experience.
I share the same thoughts. FFXIV needs to give confirmation that End Game won't fail.
Several posts elude to the comparison of "End Games". I want to point at that that is because End Game is the majority of why MMOs exist. It's been debated and ratified many times.
That being said, yes the journey to end game matters as well.
The issue becomes wether a MMO can competently cater to all aspects of that genres needs. End Game has to be spot on and it also must be competitive. SE needs to drop this senile tunnel visioned "instanced content" trash just for the sake of "being nice". Games need competition.
That being said: FFXIV needs to sale it's future capabilities and more than just a few .pdf with dev notes on how "cool" FFXIV will be post 2.0
I think examining the differences are interesting though
From an artistic standpoint... Terra is more Fantasy looking... whereas FFXIV has a more realistic feel to the landscapes and character models
Many land features seem over exaggerated and many character features are played up for a more whimsical environment
A little too cutesy for me
Yea if 2.0 doesn't rape my mind I'll probably sever all ties w/ 14. I've been considering TERA for a while now... Regardless of whether TERA sucks or whether TERA doesn't, it doesn't change the fact my gaming experience in FF14 has been piss poor and I can't log on for the death of me w/o wanting to do something 10x more fun, like taxes, or stare at paint dry. It's been like this since Dzemael... And probably won't change (excluding patch weeks) until 2.0.
If this persists post 2.0, and there is still no clear defined annual goals for players to work towards I'm gonna have to bounce. I only come to the forums to troll for the lulz. I'm a pretty materialistic person, and spending money on a monthly fee is no issue to me, however, this first month of P2P for FF14 has definitely been one of the worst decisions I have ever made financially. I don't even care if the game improves... If it does I'll stick around, if not I won't resub, and I know Yoshi wouldn't blame me for walking out on this piece.
While I applaud TERA's new combat and fantastic world. It's build on the same dull quest system that WoW, Aion, SWTOR, and every other MMO has at this point in time. Will it be a solid game? Sure. I actually hope I can get into the closed beta to mess around a bit. But I have absolutely no intentions on sticking to that game, since I'm putting all of my time and money into this title. Games will pull people away, when they're bored with that they'll come back. That's usually how an MMO-enthusiast works, unless it's an exceptional MMO.
I basically mirror fusional's feelings :I
In my opinion, the only reason people are getting caught up in TERA (myself included), GW2, etc., is that there really isn't an amazing MMO out right now. Every MMO is lacking in some area that, while still playable, removes the desire to play it in the long-term.
XIV has the unique opportunity to be an amazing game that delivers in the areas that those games are lacking, depending of course on how 2.0 and post-2.0 goes. But the problem being we have to wait for that, and in the mean time the content we're getting is, frankly, boring, easy, and short-lived :/ I'm still excited for 2.0, and what this game could be, but until then I'm left knowing that the only reason I even bother playing anymore is the company of the people in my LS and friend list.
I would agree to this completely! I love this game, but I want to know more. When 2.0 information came out, everyone was so very excited. we wait and as the waiting goes on so many get so negative.. I play everyday to get my crafts up in the hopes I may make large amounts of money and get a relic someday, but everything is too easy.. I am now working on all 50 DoW/M on a secondary character. I want a challenge, XI was a challenge to me, granted I do not want to commit and dedicate as I did to XI, three day camps was far too much and i am very grateful this isn't the case here.
I have very high hopes to 2.0 and will stay, but a bit more information would be very nice.
As for Tera, though I am a one mmo kind of gal this game had me looking for footage and applying to the betas (never did get one ; ;) for a long time. I wasn't into trying rift, and I would give SW a try for my husbands sake( he loves the SW sagas) but this is the only one outside of XIV that has had me on my toes. Thank you those playing for your information on the gameplay/community and endgame in this game, perhaps for if only a short time, I too could be a two mmo kind of gal, because this game really does appeal to me. But to the tera players are all armors really that bad(you know what I mean) and weapons so big? Im kind of hoping this might not be true ^^:
Also I give Kudos to Teras forums. They are much friendlier then I am used to and I am glad to see that respect is common on them. :)
Good stuff :3
I also think SE should go back to polls in order to vote things. These forums are full of impolite and ignorant ppl. I would like a way to cast my vote without wading through a plethora of retardation.
(Very true about TERA forums. I was checking them out. Wish FFXIV players would take some pointers from those guys over there :'( )
I thought polls were much better of an idea myself. I dislike forums here its too negative :( The polls were a wonderful idea and it would be even better if perhaps, we had a once over poll option upon log on so that those who will no longer come to forums due to bad nature may vote and know about them as well. If we did, I dont know if I would come here to be honest ^^:
