The prototype parts ARE from ship/sub voyages. Just have to find a FC that has it and is willing to help :)

Odder Otter if you want a creature skin. Otherwise the armory skin or any beds skin as they are all A+++
No piassa cause its awful ugly, same with choco and no carby or shirogane castles depending on your location because they are just too high. Had a nice view of the water from my house in Mist til someone blocked it with the 100 yalm high med carby house. Now all I see is the peak of their roof, which is also turned sideways so its like a big blue wall.
No clue what SE is thinking with housing. First they make these awful neighborhoods instead of instanced housing and impose furnishing restrictions that only exist because SE needs to be arbitrary rules on everything, then they add these nightmare skins that either destroy what view we had or are used to troll the neighborhood (ie Piassa). Wish they would give us more actual house options instead of towering kawaii sideshows.
Right. The walls themselves don't need the materials. They just need to be made in a FC workshop that has the prototype unlocked.
I don't want people to be discouraged about getting the things they would like to have because they think something is required that they won't be able to get. Sometimes it's just a matter of asking around to see if someone can help. I contacted Besame as soon as I logged on after her post yesterday, she gathered the materials needed for the walls and we made them in my FC's workshop tonight. Her house is now looking as sharp on the outside as it does on the inside. ;)
Yep. I literally gathered and crafted 90% of what I needed for my large castle walls myself and had some cool fc mates donate the rest. Then they sat around with me for the 15 minutes it took to put all the parts in and advance through all the projects. I helped another FC mate with his otter house. I may start working on mats for Otter Mansion Walls myself. The other two mansions in my ward have the same mansion skin, so I might try something different.
Just wish you could put stuff in there in bulk. Having to go through and click 15 times per item per stage gets tedious.
The other omni-crafter in the FC and I have put in mats at the same time for a few projects. Still annoying but faster and less annoying for the person who would otherwise be doing it all. It can spit error messages if you're both trying to add the same material at the same time so one of us will do the ingots while the other does the rivets, etc.
I understand why SE set it up that way (so multiple players have the chance to contribute over time) but I doubt many if any FCs take advantage of that.
